I thought the series was fine until the last episode.

The sudden romance completely ruined immersion in the series as while there had been slight romantic buildup, there was not nearly enough to justify Tallis' emotional reaction, especially considering how callous she normally was. It also seemed to be built entirely on cliches for how such a showdown could unfold.

Maybe... but I'm sure more people would be disapointed if that did not happen. I figured that would happen eventually.Posted Image

(spoilers, don't read if you haven't watched the last episode)

I don't like how short it was... it wasn't enough time to develop the characters imo.
I mean, to me when the templar kicked the can, I didn't feel anything for him or for Tallis who was openly weeping over him. I don't understand how she could fall so hard for him in so little time.
To me, she's more of a one night stand type of person.

Make up our mind, can a Templar marry or not? When we questioned you all in DA2 about Ser Wesley, you stated that a Templar can marry. However, in Redemption, the Templar states he cannot wed.. *sighs*

Felicia explained somewhere that she wrote the whole script even before Dragon Age 2's release and never had the chance to play it before filming. She built that script based on her own imagination and her experience from Dragon Age Origins which she already finished. I take it they couldn't really change all those scenes after Dragon Age 2 got released, so they kept the original version.

Well that makes some form of sense then, however there are still a few holes from anyone who has played Origins. Like women can't be warriors, she is an elf that doesn't know of Andraste, etc. etc.

I believe he was talking about his parents, and younger sister. I could be wrong, though. :)

It was a little too much like a video game segment and not quite enough like a movie. That the rogues and mercenaries don't have names so they can be "faceless minions" just did not work well for me. The Qun does not use names, that part was fine. Learning some more lore bits during the intro was actually quite welcome. But given how few players were in the show, and how the one rogue reacted to the death of his friend/lover, I would expect them to shout names.

Also, the early magic effects were not very good. Seeing people doing the drunken spin like in the game emphasized how it was more game-like than adapted for film. The later effects like the freezing were very nice.

It reminds me of the book "Red Sands". The book was good, but you could tell the author wrote it off of turn-based combat. It didn't make it a bad story, but it lacked the flow in those moments that are seen in most tales. And that's rather how this felt. It did not know if it wanted to look like future game sequences or be a dedicated film.

I would give it a 5 or 6 out of 10. It was okay, and fans will be happy to have Tallis' tale wrapped up after the DLC. It is a good starting point and I know if they did it for the main game love interests, to finish out their stories, we would all be glued to it. It won't win any awards, but it was a really nice gesture to the fans. Thanks for that, Bioware. ;)

I don't think the quality or the script were very good... but I loved Nyree, and Josmael. Nyree was crazy awesome, and Josmael was adorable (shame his motivation was Fina, who... just confused me with her "I was never special before!" random crap). Ultimately they both didn't do very much, but they were still more interesting. Tbh, though, the whole thing felt like a fan made webseries, but maybe that was budget issues. The plot could have been more interesting, but then I guess you are limited when you only get six episodes under ten minutes each. I enjoyed watching it though, and I have lots of respect for Felicia!

I thought it wasn't bad. The made the most of what they had, the fight scenes were good but some of the dialogue was a bit cheesy and the, 'inter party chat' moments were a little forced, (that might be to do with the format and the time limitations though). Also I thought some of the acting was variable in quality, (I think some of the actors understood their parts better then others), and the Quanri weren't bulky enough for me. The story was alright but I felt the scripit was a bit lacking in consistency.

Overall I did watch them all and it got me interested in the game again so I think it achieves it's purpose. Be interesting to see if there's another series.
