Hey I'm waiting for mass effect 3 and hear liara is gonna be in it, and i found the romance kinda interesting in the first one, but how do yall feel about the asari's live for like 500 years and shepard is gonna get all old, shes just gonna be stuck with shepard dead and she'll be young as ever, makes the whole thing seem kinda pointless. Thoughts?

Asari are used to having their partners die on them. Only Krogan live as long as Asari do.

But if you get little blue children then you can live on through them.

lol. so true but well, see it this way, you are 70 years old, and you still have a young woman with you :D
now this should be a good thing.
as black raptor already said, they are used to it. remember the other asari complaining about that krogan who loves her so much? and she said they are not like human who die after 100 years and you can move on. could be only her but i think its normal now for that time since you cna have a mixed species relationship.

i have several romances, but my true one is liara and i will keep it that way :)

Shepard's too badass to be outlived by an asari.

One of my Shepard's John Shepard went out with Liara in 1, and he still went out with her in ME2, after the Liar Of The Shadow Broker DLC pack.

The romance itself seems to overshadow all other romances which many have a problem with. Personally I don't care, but yeah I did kind of have a problem with if you romance Liara she'll still be around like 900 years after you're gone. ... Looks like if I ever make a Shep/Liara playthrough I'll have to make sure she doesn't.

I think that in Mass Effect 3 the romancing needs to be taken to another level, not the same bang the girl and nothing else happens..But I think a pregnancy feature would be great for realism..I'm mainly making this for Liara, she's my favorite out of them all. And if the ability to see her pregnant from our previous romancing scenes from Mass Effect 1 and 2 to become pregnant would be AMAZING! I really am hoping for this..really badly, but either way I at least something maybe a bit new..or something that lasts longer could be added to the relationships. Possibly make pregnancy for the females an option is some way for people who disagree? Just my thoughts..

I've played through ME1 & ME2 with Liara as my main (and ONLY) squeeze. If what you say (Liara getting pregnant with manShep's baby) were to happen, that would be amazing.

If it does, I'm going to play through all three games again with a femShep, have a romance with Kaidan and see if the same thing happens... (Note, if due to a bug, that Kaidan gets pregnant, then I will laugh my nads off)

Although I can imagine a femShep saying "Damn you, Alenko!! You got me into this mess and now my N7 Armour won't fit.... GO OUT AND GET ME NEW ARMOUR IN PREGNANT SIZE!!!... And get me some cheese and Squid while you're at it, I'm having cravings" ;)

As several people have mentioned, asari have become used to this phenomenon. If you decide to carry on a relationship with Liara, it is just something that you have to accept - there's just no way around it (unless you're a krogan). It's one of the factors you should consider before striking up a relationship with an asari.

On a sidenote, does anyone know how long quarians live on average? Just thinking about the ramifications for a Tali/Shepard relationship.

Wouldn't be Bioware first, though. Aerie could get pregnant in BG2.

Surprisingly I like the romance and even go so far as to romance her most of the time, although the dialog is the same whether your male or female which kinda sucks. I find Kaidan a bit too dry and frankly, annoying.. in ME2 I went with Jacob once but even he was annoying and the romance moved far too slow. Don't get me started on a romance with Thane or Garrus.. eww.... (not being like ashley) lol.
Main thing that attracted me to Liara was she's the only romance (male or female) that you can pursue into the next game (LotSB DLC).. at least for the next month anyway.. hey, its feb the 6th.. ONE MONTH TO GO!!! XD

As a few people have said, it's just a thing that you accept when going into a relationship with an asari.

Similar to the whole Aragorn and Arwen thing for LoTR

Exactly as Obsidaus^ said.
Yes, Shep is too 'boss' to be outlived by his/her spouse.
But wouldn't it also be kind of cool to know that for centuries after shepards death, The one person closest to him/her could spread the stories of commander shepard?

"The Gospel according to Shepard" Written by Liara T'Soni. lol.

I'd thought it's a happy thing knowing the person you love will have a long good life even after you're gone. Unless you rather yourself outlive them to make sure... you have had them as good as it ever will be and no one else will be entitled to their time after you?
