 I'm aware it's too late to change anything this late in development but please make these three full squadmates again!

I'm aware Mordin and Legion play important roles this time around but I really want them when I'm taking it to the reapers head on! Who else will upgrade my equipment? Who else will tell me more about the geth and do the robot?

There's also no reason Grunt can't come along. I'm his battlemaster and I need a KROGAN!! I'd prefer Wrex but I like what he's doing, so Grunt, Front and Center!!!

Thoughts?

Mordin might have some things to do with the Krogan*cough*genophage*cough* but legion and Grunt have no real reason not to be permanent

People can argue all they want that Grunt has nowhere better to be, that Shepard is his battlemaster, but the point stands that as far as character goes, he is the flattest of the flat. A wasted opportunity, and as far as I can tell, a dead end.

Legion, I'm indifferent about.

Mordin, I want.

Grunt actually surprised me with his philosophical musings. It'd be like SUDDEN BURST OF DEPTH, and then just as quickly OKAY LET'S KILL STUFF.

Protip: If you don't like a squadmate, make an effort to talk to them and take them on missions. You'll learn to love 'em.

Unfortunately, you cannot experience his full glory without hacking.  Some of his best lines are in places he can't go.

Mordin pretty much looks like a no-go for a squadmate, but is possible for him to be in Normandy lab.

Legion is hinted to be not only a temp-squadmate, but also full time one as well. Though those are from the press, so not confirmed.

While Grunt, which some might find it strange, has least reasons to be with Shepard.

Reasons:
1. Shepard surrender to Alliance. Grunt might find Shepard not worthy do to that and leave him/her then.
2. Clan Urdnot importance. Depending on how you did it:
a) He'll join Urdnot Clan if you didn't do his loyalty since Wrex/Wreav would find pure Krogan very worthy, but not liked. Or he joined Gatatog clan instead as a trophy against Urdnot clan, which creates problem for uniting Krogans against Reapers.
Goes back to Urdnot clan if you did his loyalty, but not killed Thresher Maw. Krogans don't care much for him, but Wrex/Wreav. Wrex keeps him close for Krogan salvation since he has perfect genes, while Wreav uses him as an ultimate weapon.
c) Goes back to Urdnot clan if you did his loyalty and killed Thresher Maw. He's liked among Krogans, helps Shepard since he/she is his battlemaster and with Wrex/Wreav is same as above.

I agree with Mesina. Grunt has no reason to join Shep at all. Mordin will be working on the genophage (fix) as we have seen in the demos. The squadmates will be the ones from ME1 - death on virmire - wrex(clan leader) + vega.

I liked all 3 characters but i'm keeping all my fingers crossed for Miranda to have a sizeable role from those not confirmed yet.

As far as those 3 are concerned. We seem to have a new human tank on the squad so i'm doubting Grunt will get much more than a cameo, given Wrex's presence too. Mordin seems destined for a temp squaddie berth. Legion is the one who might make it, given Tali's inclusion because i guess if Shep sides with the GethTali may not be best pleased, so having Legion replace her might be an option.

Personally, I've just about accepted the likely reality that Mordin will be limited to a cameo, and Legion a temp. squadmate. I could see Grunt coming back though.

I wouldn't worry abut that. I'm pretty sure miranda will be a possible squadmate. Her fan base is large enough that they would be foolish not too. I would still like the three listed before her tho. No offense.

I just don't know why Mordin of all people should be relegated to a cameo. Isn't he like to ME2 what The Joker was to The Dark Knight? ie. the reason to play the game?

I would almost agree to that. He was the best written of the new squadmates besides maybe legion and jack. The lack of mordin as a squadmate would be disturbing...

I think Grunt's out, for balance reasons. According to Hudson, most people save Ash, and Vega is a tank soldier. We don't need another one.

I don't save Ash (I dislike that character), especially since I play female characters with a romance with Kaidan.

I also can't see a Mass Effect Game without a permanent Krogan squadmate.

RE: Legion How much did the Geth do, and how much is blamed on the Geth by Quarian hatred and the Geth unable to defend their position? Geth aren't exactly welcome on the Citadel, you know...

I save Kaidan myself. That doesn't change the fact that Ash/Vega/Soldier!Shep will be the most common starting squad.

I thought nothing has been confirmed yet. I really hope this isn't true.
Mordin, Legion and Grunt are my fave squaddies! Legion being my most fave though. I think it would be a crime to have them only as temp. Especially since we didn't get Legion until near the end of the game. I feel like Mordin will probably be a temp though... I think I have resigned myself to that fact. These three are by far the most interesting and lovable characters in ME2.

Yes Vega is the only new character, and yes Tali, Garrus, VS, Liara and Vega have been confirmed as squaddies, not Grunt though, yet.

Mordin is just Damn funny, love that guy. Plus his ability to burn things is always a crowd pleaser. Grunt,...I gotta be honest Wrex is still my krogan. Grunt is a tough guy, and may be the "genetically perfect" krogan but if Mordin can fix the genophage then grunt becomes JAK, Just Another Krogan. Legion I think is the most interesting character to come out of the last game. Former enemy, I personally kacked him, and he's using my armor to patch the whole my rifle made. That alone carries enough subtext for an interesting plot point. Plus with the Geth and Quarians now in outright war with one another, there is a HUGE pivot point in the story that could see him as a means to get one or the other or both to stop fighting each other and start fighting reapers. Plus he's just interesting to talk to.
