It appears the greatsword version of Starfang is bugged on the Xbox 360.  The damage is only 17, but it should be 18.70 according to all the sites online (which I assume to be listing the damage for the PC version).  The longword version of Starfang is correct at 11.70 damage.  Has anyone else noticed this?

I think the quality of the item depends on the level you are when you aquire it. Though Im not 100% sure. I know this is true for the Warden Commander's armour.

You are correct that Warden Commander's armor is level based, however, Starfang is not. You can confirm this by selling to the the blacksmith that crafts Starfang. If it were level based, the quality would shift, but it doesn't. For example, when I acquired the Warden Commander's armor it was steel quality (tier 3). I could sell it to the blacksmith and buy it back at Dragonbone quality (tier 7). This will not happen with Starfang. It stays fixed at star metal quality which is supposedly tier 8.

I should also add that I have a save game prior to the blacksmith crafting the sword so I tested with him crafting the greatsword and longsword (numerous times). The longsword always gave the correct max damage of 11.70, but the greatsword always gave the incorrect 17 damage.

hrm maybe the listings are wrong - ever thought of that. Most of them might be copying from the proma guide which has a lot of false information (even spell-combos are wrong in that)

Based on postings from the Dragon Age PC forums, it appears the damage is 18.7 in-game for them instead of 17 damage we see in-game on the 360 version.
