The character that we are made to believe is Bethany is actually Flemeth with either a mask, magic or surgery making her look like Bethany. However, she forgot to disguise her wrinkly hands, which is what gives away her true identity.


It also explains why "Flemeth" has to wear gloves – to conceal her youthful Bethany hands.


The question is, "why"? I believe all will be revealed in DA3.

While Bethany and Flemeth do share a certain similarity with certain "endowments", shall we say, I think Leandra might take issue with your theory. Unless you're suggesting that Leandra had a visitation from the Witch of the Wilds 18 years prior to the Prologue...  

So too, you know that Bethany has wrinkly hands because of lack of proper soothing lotions, right? Casting all of those fireballs does dry out the skin something fierce.

There it is. Who you ressurected was just a part of who Flemeth really is, having scattered pieces of herself throughout Thedas, all of them deviously disguised and pretending to be people they're not. Loghain, with his black, long, lustrous hair is obviously Flemeth. The Archdemon? Flemeth. The Arishok? Flemeth. Varric? Flemeth. Anders' pillow? Also Flemeth.

In Dragon Age 3, all of the pieces will find each other again and unite to form a giant Mega-Flemeth which will then ravage Tokyo Val Royeaux.

Assumption: Flemeth's hands are as wrinkly as Bethany's.

We don't know until we see Flemeth's hands.

But Merrill's hands are also somewhat wrinkly. As are Isabela's.

Oh my, Flemeth's devilish plan is to live on inside the entire main female cast.

Those wrinkly grandma hands on young women were creeping me out.

Turkey claw hands do not make Bethany Flemmeth. Though it would be fun if she could be and not die or get sent away and you could play the whole game with your secret Flemeth.
