Well, if the reapers win, humantiy is doomed, no?

That's what I mean. The galaxy is doomed, all races. Not just humanity. So why stress humanity? I can read between the lines and it is not even hard reading your lines. Humanity this humanity that when all species sit in the same boat.

Becasue Cerberus looks after human interests first, that's why.

Because governments look at the interest of their people first.

I have yet to see them do such an act, considering that they're hoarding all the technology and advancements for themselves.

Subject Zero's research was totally hoarded.

I would sacrifice Quarians, without second thought.

Easy, quarians. Geth are better fighters, were attacked first, have better tech, even have better characters

Depends.

Personal feelings? Sacrifice Geth

Looking for better combatants? Sacrifice Quarians

Going to try: To use persuasion options to save both.

Oh look! Another thread where we can ****** each other off<_<
Let's face it, these "discussions" usually just come down to a slap fight between Talimancers and LegionLovers, or between Talihaters and other in general (Seriously, those that complain about Talimancers often goes out of their way to try and make them angry)

I'm hoping I'll get the chance to paragon my ass out of this sticky situation, but if you'd twist my arm and force me I'd sacrifice the geth. As a race and culture the quarians are far more important to preserve and rebuild IMHO.

The geth are a highly interesting race with technical capabilities that few of the other races can match (not even the quarians maybe), and they are certainly a military powerhouse.
Personally though, I don't see what else we can learn from them, as they haven't yet fully evolved as a culture. If we save them and stop the reapers they would be unknowing to the workings of organic politics and mindsets. They will make conclusions based purely on mathematics and logic, which is troubling in negotiations with emotionally driven creatures like most organics. It's higly possible that contributions from the geth would be severly limited after the reaper threat is dealt with. It would take time to integrate them I'd guess, and they would face even more procecution than even the quarians have faced earlier.
But then again; LEGION<3

The quarians on the other hand already share more similarities with us, I dare say they are some of the most human races we have encountered. They are an ancient race and had once a seat on the council, so no integration would be needed. They are obviously technically brilliant, and with the needed resources (which the geth are sitting on atm) they would become a great asset to the galaxy. Not only in science and engineering, but also in arts and folk culture which they reportedly exell at. In contrast to the geth, they have a fully evolved culture, and it would be highly unwise to discard as nothing more than stray dogs. Those attitudes are never beneficial!

I can't imagine how you'd actually sacrifice the geth, short of getting every last one destroyed and then shoveling the remains into a furnace. Even then, not really. They're machines. They can be restored from even utterly defunct pieces, if Tali's ME2 mission is any indication. Every single geth in the entire galaxy could be obliterated and they'd still only be gone for good if nobody tried to rebuild them. Which they could, very easily.

Can't say the same for any organic species.

It's not my fault you're blind.

Their research is top-of-the-line stuff. They wouldn't publicly give at awayanyway. They'd slowly leak it in trough dummy corporations and military contacts. Teh public at large would now nuttin. And that tech would stil leb restricted ny alliance military - assumign we're talking about military tech.
And - IIRC - it's hinted that medigel comes from Cerberus.

And the Shadow Broker files clearly point out all the stuff they did to further humanity and REDUCE tensions between them and other alien species.

Peace between the two races is the only intelligent option (IF allowed by BW).

In ME2 we find that Legion states that it is.
We also see Tali's views shift, and if hers can, the quarian races can.

Almost everyone is judging the issue based on the prejudices/actions of both races 300 years in the past and not what BW has shown us of the current situation. If my father and his father and his father demonize the other race, just what view would I have of that same race without any other input? It does not make that view correct but it is also not my fault unless I am introduced to other views. Shepard does do this to Tali and it does have an effect.

Are the quarians wrong? Yes but so too are the geth. There is no indication that they have even tried to communicate with the quarians. Until a line of communications can be established, you will have two isolated groups with only their past to draw upon. The quarians tried to turn off 'machines' that were acting 'almost' sentient. The 'machines' tried to stop them. Reactions and responses escalated until all out war resulted in a great many destroyed mechanical platforms and 15 billion men, women and children. (No geth were harmed in this paragraph, they just uploaded to hubs, the same cannot be said of the quarians) Does anyone actually expect a race to say 'Why can't we be friends?' without first having some transfer of information?

The quarian race IS dying, their ships failing, desperation is rising. The geth have grown, both in numbers as well as intellect. It is time for the two races to talk but in this, the geth should have made the first move. It is clear they study organics and though they may not grasp the 'feelings' we use, they can easily see the tendencies in our action. A desperate race will lash out if force is all they can use, we see this all too often in today's world. But give that same race a different option, via communications, and desperation can be replaced by hope.

With the exception of the 'Tali Haters' and the 'quarian or geth haters', I am very surprised to see so few calls for peace.
