Voice is nice, but it's never the voice I'd have given her in my head, and she seldom says things the way I feel she should or react the way I would have chosen.
And I despise the ineffectual paraphrasing system.
I know I'm screwed and it's voice voice voice from now on, but I also know that I'll never feel as attached to someone else's character as I would have to my own character. And a voice I didn't choose saying things not the way I would have chosen will always make it someone else's character.
I voted unvoiced. The paraphrase system drove me wild and--to my surprise--the tone indicators made it even worse instead of better. I found that I had a harder time choosing my line because the paraphrase I wanted and the tone I wanted were often at odds--I ended up being snarky a lot of the time not because I wanted to be sarcastic, but because it was usually the only option that wasn't total milquetoast or savage brute. Seeing the full text should help, since at least I won't find my character unexpectedly telling lies or saying stuff I don't agree with. But even still, the voicing will still limit the kind of character you can play.
In a perfect world, we'd see the whole text AND pick the tone in which we want that text said AND have a selection of different voices to choose from, but I realize that would require a prohibitively expensive amount of voice acting...so I'll prefer unvoiced, since it leaves my character's voice to my imagination.
