I'm trying to play Mass Effect on PC because my friend recommended it to me but the mouse acceleration makes it next to unplayable. I found a thread on how to mostly remove both positive and negative accel in ME2 but I can't find anything for ME1.

Is there any way to disable this in the config files? I've disabled it in windows and the setpoint mouse drivers and I don't have any issues in any games apart from the braindead ones with absolutely no way of disabling their hardcoded acceleration. This isn't one of those is it?

Thanks

The Mouse Sensitivity setting in Options does nothing to help?

Also, many games are coded assuming that 3rd party mouse controls (ie: Setpoint) are not running on the system, anmd can quite pften clash with them.

The sensitivity slider leaves a lot of acceleration at any setting.

Just to be clear, acceleration is when the distance a movement with the mouse moves the camera is different depending on the speed of the movement. For example, 3 inches of slow movement moves the camera far less than the same 3 inches of fast movement. For anyone used to playing PC games that use the mouse appropriately (ie, no acceleration, one to one movement) for 15+ years it's incredibly disorienting.

No way of disabling acceleration or smoothing is usually a sign of a shoddy console port, which is fine and I have an xbox 360 controller for just those situations, but this game doesn't seem to support that either without mucking around with 3rd party software to bind the xbox buttons to keys.
