As a long time fan of the series i think it wouldnt hurt if Bioware reward us for our loyalty. I feel that long time fans who have been with the game the whole way through, and completed certain achievements throughout the series deserve a extra bonus, like a Exclusive Outfit, or Gun, for use either in the single player or coop section. It wouldn't take much but it would be nice for us players who have been there the whole way, and worked hard for some of the achievements.

I think they were discussing a possible achievement for importing a Shepard all the way from ME1. Plus, you get all the sidequest bonuses/cameos/emails, credits, resources, skill points, etc...for importing. I don't think it's fair for new players to also be missing out on weapons and costumes, unless those weapons and costumes can be unlocked via other means in ME3.

Too late now, if they did this the PS3 players and any people new to the series would be up in arms about missing out on content.

Sure its fair. If you want them, buy ME1 and 2. Nobody is restricting anyone else from getting them if they REALLY want the bonuses.

PS3 will probably get the bonuses for free, or a free copy of ME1.

That ^

If BW did bonus/unlockable/whatever for ME1 imports it would alienate new players to ME3.

Yeah looks like there probably will be an achievement for going all the way through from 1 to 3. And as far as 'Your Shepard' goes I know you carry everything through that goes along with importing.

Its great to get new players involved, and i think Bioware are going to great lengths to catering to the casual gamer who are going to be starting the series from ME3. But still feel that it would be a nice gesture if they did reward the hardcore Mass Effect player with some kind of exclusive in-game extra.

They kinda did that for ME2, since the council was dead by default, turning half the citadel into anti-human bigots. Plus, it assumed that Shep made certain decisions. Decisions with huge impacts on ME2 and 3. Of course, Genesis remedied this. Still annoyed that PS3 got it first, though.

They are rewarding the hardcore Mass Effect player. You won't be seeing Gianna Parasini, Conrad Verner, Shiala, Rana Thanoplis, Helena Blake, Fist, etc...if you did not import a Shepard.

That's good.  I was supposed to look Shiala up after I wasn't doing whatever it is I do.

And you sir are the reason Bioware should consider this, people who have played multiple playthroughs and spent hours of their life trying to see how each event plays out, or grinded away to get all the achievements. Time for Bioware to look after us for our loyalty.

It would also encourage new players who start the series to go back and play through the trilogy. Motivate them to play through the series like it was intended.  As a trilogy.

Too bad PS3 players don't have the option to play through the series as a trilogy and probably will never have that option.

Heh - I always did kind of want some other upgrades I could buy in ME2 for 200k of some resource... just for the completely insane planet scanners.

Achievements will never solely rely on owning another game to be unlocked. That might be one way of unlocking them, but there will be another method available for those who own just the one game in question.

ME2 did this.

Well make it a PC or XBOX360 exclusive extra. Im only talking small like an extra outfit , gun, or gun skin. There are plenty of people on this forum who were playing Mass Effect well before it was released on th PS3.

I have six imported Shepards from ME1 and I don't feel that I should be awarded with anything more than I already have. Not if PS3 or new players can't unlock the same things on their own.

But you already get content that PS3 players have no access to. A whole game + a number of missions in ME2 and whatever those cameos lead to in ME3. PS3 players don't get the Conrad mission, the short mission with Gianna Parasini nor the meeting with Shiala. They also don't get the XP or resource import bonuses.
