I dont think you realise how much time some XBOX and PC players have put into this series. Ridiculous amounts of hours and playthroughs to get some of the achievements. Mass Effect has been on PS3 for less than a year and your upset about the prospect of us long time fans of the series getting somthing minor extra.

Oh no, I do. I bought ME1 at release for my 360.

People with imports from ME1 already have bonus content that PS3 users will never have access to. Several sidequests and import bonuses in the form of XP and resources. Now you are asking for more. Seems greedy to me.

Its not Bonus content PS3 users are missing. Its how Mass Effect was meant to be. PS3 not having that stuff is because it came out much much later, less than a year ago. Bioware did well to give you guys the genesis comic to tie in previous events.

Ive been playing Mass Effect since 2008 and it took hours and multiple playthroughs to get some of the achievements and outcomes. I dont think its greedy to be asking Bioware for a small unlockable to reward playing through the entire series.

I'd like some extra stuff, but agree everyone should be able to get it somehow. My fiancé has the game on PS3, and shouldn't be punished for it.

I think the fairest solution would be to make some unlockable items that you get for importing a Shepard from 1&2 on PC/360, just 2 on PS3 and in a new game + playthrough without either.

Something like that would be fair, when i started this thread it wasnt about getting something more than the PS3 crowd, it was more about getting something  exclusive for loyalty and sticking with the series, that a casual gamer wouldnt get on his first visit into the Mass Effect series

You already get so much! You get all the choices you made throughout both games, making your game very customizable. You get credits, resources, experience points. You get cameos, emails, and even new side-quests. Even with Genesis, PS3 users missed out on a lot of content.

Only if you make the unlockable weapon/armor available to everyone (perhaps allows imported Shepard to start with it, and new/PS3 Shepards have to acquire it somehow), it is unfair, and greedy to ask for when you already get so much more than PS3 users and new players.

Are you a new player and would feel left out if someone on Xbox whos been grinding away for years at Mass Effect or Someone on a PS3 (say a different way to unlock eg, but still had to play through ME2 and Maybe a playthrough of 3) got something that you couldnt get? Bioware is already catering heavily to the casual gamer making the game a seamless start point of the series. I dont see why we cant have something exclusive to reward the hardcore gamers.

While waiting for ME3 ive been playing Gears of War 3. Over there there are a few unlocks there for true fans of the series. Different colour weapons and character skins that are only unlockable for achieving certain achievements in the previous Gears games and another unlock for completing all 3 games of the series. These unlocks are minor, they dont effect gameplay but gives the guys who have done the hard yards somthing extra for their loyalty and effort. I do not think these guys are greedy, they are loyal to the series and have been rewarded.

I think they were discussing a possible achievement for importing a Shepard all the way from ME1. Plus, you get all the sidequest bonuses/cameos/emails, credits, resources, skill points, etc...for importing. I don't think it's fair for new players to also be missing out on weapons and costumes, unless those weapons and costumes can be unlocked via other means in ME3.

Lets talk about Dr. Pepper and all that "USA exclusive stuff" from viewpoint of an European - and then we can talk about "unfair" because of additional items for "vets". I'd like to see some extras for my complete playthrough: additional dialogues, additional side missions ... name it.

Also it's "unfair" towards buyers of normal ME2 or ME3 that they don't have CE stuff with ther version ... right?

(Sorry, had to rant)

The bonus credits, resources and skill points from importing my lvl 55-60 Sheps from ME1 into ME2 was quite handy.  The emails and such as you mentioned was also a nice touch.  It helped to remind me that this is a character with a history and a past, not just some cyborg regrown in a lab.

I want everyone to stop and think for a second "Do we honestly need extra content just because we've been around longer?" It's not like Bioware forced us to put in as much time into ME as we did...

Sounds like OP asking for a handout based on the fact that he put in so many hours into playing a a few video games.

If BW did bonus/unlockable/whatever for ME1 imports it would alienate new players to ME3.

so instead the "alienate" old-timers by not recognizing it?

Personally I'd find it a nice gesture, nothing big nothing important but something additional to say "you stayed with us from the start". Even if it would just be an additional "off-duty" outfit for Shepard

Don't forget the three sidequests that only people who import a ME1 save have access to.

The old-timers who already have access to more content than the new people do?

which side quests exactly ? Because I think that it had more to do with ME2 assuming a specific "default" setting as you'd could come to the same position by choices in ME1 (e.g. Conrad Verner, Parasini).

is that another of those posts that says "new customers get all the best deals" compared to the "already cuustomers". I don';t honestly understand why that would even be an issue at all ?

Any new customer has the choice to pick up the old stuff as well. PS3 would just get teh same recognition for ME2 import tnen the others get for an ME1-ME3 import and ME2-ME3. I dpn't really understand why a small addition "thank you" would be such an issue. Or is it I want everything for little imput ?

Those would be the ones. PS3 players and people who play ME2 without a ME1 save import, cannot do the Conrad Verner quest, meet Parasini or Shiala. By virtue of playing the series from the beginning, you already have three sidequests that others can't get. Plus, you get a boost in XP and resources. Now you want more on top of the things you already have.

Yes, because if you didn't do the conrad verner quest you automatically lose in ME3... Posted Image

Bioware gave us lots of exp, money and resources for having high level ME1 shepards in ME2 So i'd expect them to do it again. Having to start from level 4 instead of 1 with a head start in minerels and creds was good enuff for me

Who said that? We are specifically discussing the idea of exlusive content for people who have imports from ME1. I am arguing that people who imported from ME1 already have exclusive content that PS3 users don't have access to. Why should they get more? It is entitlement, pure and simple.

I'm just trying to point out that while those 2 quests ( I didn't import a ME1 save before and that Feros Reference was still there minus Shiala) are not as important as you seem to think they are, heck even if I was a PS3 player I don't think I'd miss three quests that only last about five minutes. However, I'm not saying just because I played ME1 that I deserve more content I'm just wondering why others think we deserve extra content.

They aren't important. I never said they were. It is, however, exclusive content. Just like the extra weapon or armor or whatever that the OP is asking for wouldn't really be important. It is just exclusive content. The OP wants more exlusive content on top of the exclusive content he already has just because he has an imported save from ME1. Its silly and stinks of greed and entitlement.

I would like to remind everyone that Casey has, in fact, confirmed some sort of "surprise" for us long-term fans of the series. I don't have a source because I don't remember where I read it. I think it was in the GameInformer reveal from April, but again, I don't really remember.

Secondly, while an achievement for playing through the whole trilogy with the same one Shepard is a very likely possibility, they would never make that the only way to unlock said achievement. It's in Microsoft's policy that ALL achievements for a specific game be unlockable through that same game, without requiring outside tie-ins. So, if there is indeed such an achievement in ME3, it will also be unlockable through other means, like playing through ME3 three different times or some such.

A small unlockable item would be a nice gesture to alot of players who have been there from the start.
