Let me just first say that yes - this IS a rant full of unapolegetic rage, hate, disgust, and disappointment like you would never believe. If you could see my eyes right now, you'd be  all like, 'Oh my gosh, he's full of rage, hate, digust, and disappointment right now.' So now that's out of t he way let's get to the details.

You guys made DA2 combat far more fluid than Origns to the point where it's addicting? Screw you! I've played this game twice so far and am still not bored it. It's revolting how many hours I put into this game and all of those hours of fun I can NEVER get back. I expected combat to be more clunky and less responsive and I deserve that. How dare you take that away from me?

You had MORE interesting characters in DA2 than in Origins? I don't think you understand that I ENJOYED not having so many good characters. You HAVE to have at least one uninteresting character so that it's easier to choose who to leave out of your party. Now I have to CHOOSE who to uset? I don't like it. Also, having certain characters I don't like allows me to circumvent my hatred onto those characters for reflective moments. You took reflective moments away me!!!!(x10)

And don't get me started on the story and lore. It's such a joke. I mean really, I love dragons. I love Templars. I love Mages. I even love the whole overarching theme of Templars vs Mages and the bit with the Arishok, but did you really JUST HAVE to spell Meredith's name starting with a ' M ?' Does every freaking single name HAVE to be capitalized in this world? Every other story capitalizes the names of people and places! You can't do anything different for a change?

If it weren't for these STRIKING issues in the game, I would give it a GREAT review, but apparently, you guys messed up big. Hopefully in Dragon Age 3, you'll learn from this post specifically. Maybe have a dev meeting and talk about my points with the crystal intent of fixing all of the above.

I expect more from you guys.

I'm sorry you enjoyed the game, OP. We can only hope that you enjoy less any future games we might make. Perhaps you'll find other BioWare games less to your tastes, and won't buy them in the future. We try to make games that don't appeal to gamers, and I guess we just didn't succeed this time around.

I would recommend that you don't try the Legacy and Mark of the Assassin DLCs because they're just more of the same thing you found in Dragon Age II, but with some of the issues brought up in these forums addressed and "fixed." You wouldn't like that, I imagine.

Stanley, that was superb! :D

Didn't want people thinking we only shut down negative threads or only respond to positive ones. We value creativity and humour, too. :)

Dear Bioware,

Where do you get off by making Rogues super ninjas and not clunky derp mini warriors. I didn't buy DA2 to mash this so called awesome button, quite frankly my keyboard has no such key. I hereby do declare full reprimands for making such an awesome game. Failure to comply will result in me Buying DA3. Be reasonable Bioware.

-Reno, Someone who is depressed because his computer's hard drive went kasploot and can't play DA2 :'(

We're sorry, we'll try to make rogues less unique and more like weaker, less effective microwarriors the next time around. We will also endeavour to turn the "awesome button" into an "arcane button combination" for every action. Sneak preview:

D-DF-F + RB + X Y Y A + < + "Shazam!" + QCB + hold RT + hold LB + hold B + X X X X X X X = basic forward middle small weapon slash.

D-DF-F + LB + X Y Y A + < + "Shazam!" + QCB + hold RT + hold LB + hold B + X X X X X X X = basic forward middle small weapon thrust

D-DF-F + RB + X Y Y A + < + "Shazam!" + QCB + hold LT + hold LB + hold B + X X X X X X X = basic backward middle small weapon slash

D-DF-F + RB + X Y Y A + < + "Shazam!" + QCB + hold RT + hold LB + hold B + X X X X X X Y = basic forward high small weapon slash

D-DF-F + RB + X Y Y A + < + "Shazam!" + QCB + hold RT + hold RB + hold B + X X X X X X X = basic forward middle large weapon slash

Players on PC will have to press and/or hold the same keyboard keys. For example, for a basic forward middle large weapon slash, PC players will press D, then D and F together, then F, then R and B together, then X, Y, Y, A, then shout "Shazam!" into their microphone, then circle their mouse pointer half-widdershins, then hold R and T together, release and hold R, release and hold B, and keep holding those keys while pressing X seven times. congratulations! Basic forward middle large weapon slash!

"When you press an arcane button combination, something basic happens! Combo, basic!"

Dear Bioware

How dare you make such awsome humor for a DLC! I'm absolutly disgusted that you made such a fantastic colour puzzle. How can you live with yourself, making such fluid animations, and a smoother experience for those of us who have things to do! You need to seriously consider, some pyscological help for such good dialouge.

Making the skill-tree's more asscessible for those of  us, who are less mathmatical, what type of crack are you on!!

We're sorry. We misplaced our "no fun allowed" sign and HR doesn't have the manpower to do frequent "frown patrol" walkthroughs of the entire office. And since some of our developers have gotten married or engaged, or have had birth or pregnancy annoucnements during development, we were smiling more often than not. future products will be funless, grey exercises in melancholy and ennui, with Towers of Hanoi puzzle locks on every door.

We will also reduce the maximum syllable count on conversations to two. The only characters affected will be Bela, Alis, Av'line, Beth'ny, Bastien, the qunar, and the Lesian valiers. Oh, and of course Fereld. Bran and Dipty will also be very happy so long as Sandra and her Quistors don't come seeking.

Skill trees will now require a calculus class to figure out as well as a comp. lit. class, as they will be filled with arcane formulae and literary allusions. Stay in school, kids! :)

As you can see, we always listen to our community and to gamers everywhere.

Dear BioWare,

It is with a heavy and rage filled heart I write this. How dare you create a character with such amazing chest hair? Leaving every man, woman, child and animal feeling inadequate.

Shame on you!

Due to popular demand, we will no longer represent the hirsute in our games. Nor will we represent people with eyes or those without a noticeable limp or those not from Hungary. Thank you for allowing us to correct this grievous error in inclusiveness and for increasing our sales among the eyeless, limping Hungarians demographic. :)

What really irritates me is finding something I missed in the last game every time I play a new one. The first time I played I sort of zipped through, not exploring everything, and missed Zev, and a lot of funny side quests. It was so cruel of you, Bioware, to make me have to explore every nook and cranny in the game to find all your cleverly hidden secrets!

In order to alleviate this issue, our future products will have everything spelled out for you from the very beginning. If that isn't enough, during play you can turn on developer commentary and we will talk you through anything you don't understand right away. This commentary will also be sold as an audiogame, and completing it will give you the same achievements, XP, gear, and story closure as if you had played the whole way through.

Audio DLC will include such things as armour ("Bela's new armour is a teal cuirass with straps and exposed cleavage. Leather straps run along her arms and her shoulders have tiny studs on them. Her skirt is knee-length and split up the sides so her flipping and kicking is not hindered.") and new quests ("Do you wish to help the viscount expose the rebel elves' plot to kidnap Kirkwall's nobles' first-born children?").

How dare you!

How dare you give my favorite DA:O  character not one but TWO CAMEOS totally relevant and contributory to her character! How dare you expose me to the sweet sirens call that is Corinne Kempa's voice not once but twice! I never want to see (or especially hear) her again for I cannot handle her supreme and invincible awesomeness.

;D

Future products will be voiced exclusively by 1980's-era Bobcat Goldthwait, with sound effects by 1980's-era Michael Winslow. All music will be by 1990's-era Justin Bieber and 1970's-era Vangelis. :)

I demand a refund of this time I will not actually be able to wish away!

Don't blame us, blame linear time. Or go post your melancholy to your blog, ya hippie! You're obviously who we make our games for, so you'll wait and you'll like it, mister! I've heard that the more copies you pre-order, the faster the game comes out. :)

Finally we're making some progress. See people all it took was a little ill thought out hate filled rant posted to the forum and we managed to make sweeping changes to the direction of a game enjoyed by so many.

Mission Accomplished!

We will also have a version of upcoming products that has not changed a bit since Baldur's Gate. In fact, it will be Baldur's Gate 1 with the names changed. Players will be able to toggle between BG1 and the changed game. :P

Low-res texture pack will be mandatory, day -1 DLC costing 12,000 points. Every character will be trisexual and so easily romanceable, even looking at them or opening their character screen will cause them to sleep with you, giving you negative follower approval points.

I'm not enjoying this thread at all. I hate all you demanding, entitlist fanraging tr0llb0iz. Keep up the bad work, ladies and gentlemen...and filthy hippies! :)

Stupid sexy Bioware. I really wish you stupid sexy devs would stop talking to us in the forums and responding to the fans directly. Thats something only small and up and coming devs are allowed to do, not time proven big name developers. Every response and sign of taking time out of the day to chat with us is a bad sign. You're supposed to be soulless automatons who run on tears and pain.

We are every bit the unfeeling mindless shills of a faceless money-grubbing corporation. I'm only talking to you because you have bought the game, lined my pockets with cash, and helped me to buy my solid gold yacht. Get a job, ya filthy hippie! :P

Also if you're going to even bother responding to us, at least stop joking around and having fun with us. You are professionals who are adults, as an adult you are supposed to hate video games and everyone that plays them. You're not supposed to enjoy playing the games you make and enjoy discussing the lore, mechanics, and characters with the fans on a one on one level.

This message was professionally dictated to a small orphan boy whose only job is to take dictation and professionally type things out on the internet... if only he'd been taught to read. Or write. Said orphan boy has since been professionally replaced with professional speech-to-text software.

I am not seeing any genuine hate, prejudice, or comments against any particular group or individual in this thread. If anything, we are having fun and making fun of ourselves in this discussion. I, for one, though this was a clever way of expressing one's love of the game, which is why i joined the discussion in the first place.

This thread in now way dismissed any one's love or hate of the game, nor does it invalidate their comments or criticisms of Dragon Age II, and so long as the thread continues to be in good fun, I'm going to keep it open.

Stanley, do you not think it is somewhat being a hypocritical leaving this thread open,

No, not at all. I've gotten many comments from the anti-DA2 side since release asking why critical threads are always locked while love threads are always left open. And every time someone asks me that, I go and compare the number of anti- threads and pro- threads to see if there indeed is an imbalance. And you know what? There always is one.

There are always anti-DA2 threads that demend to be left open so people can "tell it like it is" or "tell the unvarnished truth", when all it is is an excuse to bash whatever they don't like about the game. And that's all well and good, in my opinion. People are and should be allowed to express their dislike about the game or any part of it they like.

What they are not permitted to do is to tell other people how to think, or to dictate whether others should like or dislike the game. And this is precisely the sentiment I feel from the anti-DA2 side of the discusssion--that liking the game is wrong, and that love threads should be locked, removed, and dismissed because...well, I haven't gotten a reasonable response to this one yet. And this happens not just in this forum or with this topic. Character love threads, romance support threads, game enjoyment threads--it seems that anytime someone dares to enjoy something in our games, someone feels the need to take it upon themselves to suddenly be "good community member."

Im sure you guys are enjoying the admiration from the  people who actually liked the game on here, and took it upon themselves to make a childish spam thread.

If it's so useless and below notice, why feel the need to insult it? The OP has chosen a novel way of expressing his enjoyment of the game and our products. So now I will turn a question back on you: why should love threads get locked so quickly when hate threads are given much tolerance here on the BioWare Social Network?

This thread is just spam, please remove it so real discussions can take place and these iq dropping threads wont be on the first page.

There is real discussion going on in this thread. People are discussing what they liked about DA2. Sure, not in a traditional manner, but discussion is there and participants are being more detailed, more constructive, and more clever in their posts than in your average hate/bashing/vitriol thread.

Again, no one and no group is being specifically addressed in the main discussion. No point of view is being dismissed or marginalized. No community member is being prevented from posting their point of view. BioWare is not necessarily only listening to love threads, nor do we feel the opinions expressed in them are any more or less valid than in hate threads. I just happen to enjoy positivity more, which is why you'll see me participating more frequently in threads that are positive or show great discussion potential. There is nothing for me to gain by participating in a thread which seeks to blame me or my company, which is vile and full of verbal abuse, or which calls for my dismissal, calls into question my competence or dedication to my work, or implies I don't care about this community.

I hope that clears things up. let's please try to get back on topic. THank you.

When ME2 was in development, I was on their forums a lot. Patrick Weekes gave me the nickname "Wootabaga," and the Volus seemed the best entity to embody that nickname. These days, it is a sign of relative peace and harmony on the forums. It's only when Death's Hand makes an appearance on my profile that you should be concerned.

For the love of cake,  how can you stomach the sheer atrocity  that is  Anders! How dare you make a character I hate so much and enjoy stabbing at the end of the game! How blind drunk were you, in making  such  a great quest like The Long Road.

It was Open Bar Day at the office and a whole bunch of us kinda let the celebration get out of hand. The next thing we knew, we had created many new characters and put them in the game. The last time this happened, Baldur's Gate II was created. :)

One of the things I hate from you people is the openness to dissenting points of view that you've demonstrated in this and other threads.Gods, why can't you have a bee in your bonnet like everyone else on the internet? Why should I have to start treating all you mere gamers and fans with the respect and admiration due our fun and loyal fanbase? Start stamping your feet and making demands of us and holding your breath until we give it to you! Don't you peons know how game development works? You're the paying customers, dammit, and you're always right!

I can't stand all this enjoyment you're getting from the Dragon Age franchise, and all this cautious optimism about future products! Obviously, it's because we're just after your money and once we have it, we no longer care about you or any of your filthy hippie game platforms. DLC is just a way to steal more of your hard-earned money from your wallet while we do little to no work. notice how we automatically deducted the price of Legacy and Mark of the Assassin from your accounts months ago before the DLCs came out. Pretty sneaky of us, wasn't it? And all for no new areas, creatures, characters, dialogue, or even addressing anyone's DA2 concerns.

Oh, and if you notice something awry in your home, it's because we also snuck in and ate your cookies while you were at school and/or work. We also made faces at your puppy.
