Well, if I don't like DA2 that means no one can, and anyone who says they do is wrong and a liar. I thought that was obvious.

Funny...from what I've read, most of the posts in this thread are a cry-foul of sorts to Bioware for making such an immersive and addictively fun game that folks have:

 - lost sleep
 - spent hours playing rather than studying, doing house things, running errands, etc.
 - spent hours talking about the game and dissecting every twist and turn
 - spent hours talking to new friends about said game and about said twists and turns

I haven't seen any vitriol toward groups. Just a lot of tongue-in-cheek, snarky love toward something that has, we must all admit, brought us all here together.

If that's negative, then I clearly need a new dictionary. And thus, I hate Merriam-Webster as much as I hate Bioware. Posted Image

(oh, there's that face again)

Don't be so naive. The OP was clearly taking the **** out of people who criticise DA2  and how it is believed to be inferior to origins.

But it's cool. I also love how Woo joined in with his spiteful, but funny comments. Just goes to show how sick he is of seeing DA2 hate threads.

Just don't take people for fools. The goal was to make fun about the others and pretty much everyone participated. It doesn't bother me that said. Because that's the usual level of the bsn. At least it's happy.

Even the DA2 happy thread has degenerated into arguments?

It's always funny to those who make fun of others. Slightly less for those who are its victims in general.

Victims? Really? :?

Again, thicker skin. Inasmuch as it mocks the tone of the rest of the posts here for the past 8 months, yes its intent is to "make fun." But there's a good way to respond to that if you're so offended by such light, nonspecific ribbing...

How can you hate Bioware!? I love them, thank you Bioware for...

...removing the confounding race/origin choices...

...the expertly recycled environments...

...the wonderful wave mechanics...

...the easy to grasp two-dimensional single-issue companions...

...three unrelated easy to follow narratives...

...presenting mages and templars in an easy to understand Fox-Newsy sort of way...

...a thrilling cliff-hanger ending...

Am I doing it right?[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/angel.png[/smilie]

(Yep Drasanil, I'm totally dragging you into this...)

And then there's the last couple of pages.

Well personally I wasn't offended at all. First because I don't care, that's the bsn, I can't be surprised anymore.  And as if this kind of thing can touch me. That said if some people are " slighty " offended, I won't blame them. Now that's their problem. But If you complain that they don't like this, well, I can't really understand you, because that's easy to understand to me.

I read this thread, so yes, that's pretty much the case. I stand on what I am saying, you made fun about others, even if " it wasn't intended to be mean ", but I don't believe that at all given many posts. A bit mean, if we are sincere between us.

And well when people, say, we were been mocked, so we do too, it is so easy to see what there is behind all that.

So they are victims about all this fun, yes , not in the dramatic sense, it's just an observation. One side about another side. But the other side isn't forced to be glad.

I don't blame you, simply I am surprised, when some can't understand why some could be annoyed.  Try  to reverse the roles, even with the same tone and ask yourself if some wouldn't be here to make noise.

Not sure what a cookie or digimon are but I am sure this thread just took a turn for the worse. Well worse then the last few pages.

I also would like to mention how BioWare betrayed the PC gamers for making a console game. Damn Knights of the Old Republic :(

I am not seeing any genuine hate, prejudice, or comments against any particular group or individual in this thread. If anything, we are having fun and making fun of ourselves in this discussion. I, for one, though this was a clever way of expressing one's love of the game, which is why i joined the discussion in the first place.

This thread in now way dismissed any one's love or hate of the game, nor does it invalidate their comments or criticisms of Dragon Age II, and so long as the thread continues to be in good fun, I'm going to keep it open.

Stanley, do you not think it is somewhat being a hypocritical leaving this thread open, Im sure you guys are enjoying the admiration from the  people who actually liked the game on here, and took it upon themselves to make a childish spam thread. This thread is just spam, please remove it so real discussions can take place and these iq dropping threads wont be on the first page.

While I know that no BioWare employee would participate in an equally creative anti DA2 thread I'm not sure they would leave such a thread going on like this one.

You missed the one where some Kirkwall official decreed that all buildings and subterranean tunnels be built on the same two designs. That was critical, funny and someone from BioWare commented.

Now, of course, I can't find it. (PS. But it certainly wasn't closed quickly or anything.)

Possibly one of the most unfunny threads i've seen in a long time.

Carry on.

Truth, the best part is, if it actually pointed out negatives in the game it would have been locked, but because its an I love you Bioware post, it doesnt.

There are threads stickied to post positives and negatives about the game, I suggest people use those instead of making themselves look like drooling morons.

I say after eight months of DA2 bashing threads, let the people who like the game have their fun.

The bashing will likely continue until they redeem themselves by making a quality product, and no, I dont mean by making 2 hour DLC packs for 10 bucks.

Its a great disservice to anyone who hasnt played the game to come in and read this thread, they could get misled into thinking the game was a quality product when it was far from it.

Again, this thread should be locked and the praise or criticism should into their proper topic threads.

I hate to get serious for a moment...but why are you posting in this thread?  It's a thread where people are having fun.  Is that such a bad thing?  Let it go. Take a breath.  Go play a game you like and tell people how much you like it.  Or at least do us a favor and go back to every other thread where you can repeat this over and over to your elistist giggling trolls.  You guys are like a black cloud that hovers over every conversation.  It's just tiring and boring now.  Sorry.

Back on point!

How dare you Bioware take a character who was jokey and bland and make him into an interesting complex character, who falls into an obsessive madness, and yet raises so many complex issues.  Shame on you.  Anders is straight and funny and there is nothing more to him than that.  We want WOODEN CHARACTERS! You want some hate, fine I'll give it to you (teehee).
I can't stand that when I come on these forums there are always Devs taking up precious posting spaces. The Internets don't just go on forever you know. You can't just add more memory to hard drives or delete useless posts (see this post as an example). Also they're always so helpful and nice they're going to give me a cavity. I can't stand that they keep trying to reach out to us, the community. They even change their direction based on our feedback. I mean who dose that? No really, is there anyone else that dose that? It's really nice deplorable and it has to stop.

The real kicker for me is that they're actually allowed to... well speak their minds and stuff. They're not just mindless automatons. If I wanted I real person I'd talk to my friends... if I had any that is.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! explanation marks I had left out but added here so you could feel my rage.

Edit: I really hate that I can't spell.

Stanley, do you not think it is somewhat being a hypocritical leaving this thread open,

No, not at all. I've gotten many comments from the anti-DA2 side since release asking why critical threads are always locked while love threads are always left open. And every time someone asks me that, I go and compare the number of anti- threads and pro- threads to see if there indeed is an imbalance. And you know what? There always is one.

There are always anti-DA2 threads that demend to be left open so people can "tell it like it is" or "tell the unvarnished truth", when all it is is an excuse to bash whatever they don't like about the game. And that's all well and good, in my opinion. People are and should be allowed to express their dislike about the game or any part of it they like.

What they are not permitted to do is to tell other people how to think, or to dictate whether others should like or dislike the game. And this is precisely the sentiment I feel from the anti-DA2 side of the discusssion--that liking the game is wrong, and that love threads should be locked, removed, and dismissed because...well, I haven't gotten a reasonable response to this one yet. And this happens not just in this forum or with this topic. Character love threads, romance support threads, game enjoyment threads--it seems that anytime someone dares to enjoy something in our games, someone feels the need to take it upon themselves to suddenly be "good community member."

Im sure you guys are enjoying the admiration from the  people who actually liked the game on here, and took it upon themselves to make a childish spam thread.

If it's so useless and below notice, why feel the need to insult it? The OP has chosen a novel way of expressing his enjoyment of the game and our products. So now I will turn a question back on you: why should love threads get locked so quickly when hate threads are given much tolerance here on the BioWare Social Network?

This thread is just spam, please remove it so real discussions can take place and these iq dropping threads wont be on the first page.

There is real discussion going on in this thread. People are discussing what they liked about DA2. Sure, not in a traditional manner, but discussion is there and participants are being more detailed, more constructive, and more clever in their posts than in your average hate/bashing/vitriol thread.

Again, no one and no group is being specifically addressed in the main discussion. No point of view is being dismissed or marginalized. No community member is being prevented from posting their point of view. BioWare is not necessarily only listening to love threads, nor do we feel the opinions expressed in them are any more or less valid than in hate threads. I just happen to enjoy positivity more, which is why you'll see me participating more frequently in threads that are positive or show great discussion potential. There is nothing for me to gain by participating in a thread which seeks to blame me or my company, which is vile and full of verbal abuse, or which calls for my dismissal, calls into question my competence or dedication to my work, or implies I don't care about this community.

I hope that clears things up. let's please try to get back on topic. THank you.

Mr. Woo, your earlier comments in the page made me lol many times. In fact, they had me in stitches. But since laughter and happiness are not allowed in this forum, I'll start my hating.

Bioware, how dare you create not one, not two, but nearly 10 interesting companions! Where am I supposed to direct my unvented love if I like them all? I mean, really! And the personalities! Sweet Maker, did you have to make them all interesting? I want my companions to be as bland as cardboard, you hear me? CARDBOARD!!!!!!!!!

P.S. Why did you pick a volus as your picture, Mr. Woo? Do you like the Biotic God? XD

When ME2 was in development, I was on their forums a lot. Patrick Weekes gave me the nickname "Wootabaga," and the Volus seemed the best entity to embody that nickname. These days, it is a sign of relative peace and harmony on the forums. It's only when Death's Hand makes an appearance on my profile that you should be concerned.

Also, get a job, ya hippie! :P

I blame you, Bioware, for making a game that actually got me more deeply into fandom than I've ever been. Before you made DA2, I'd never written a fanfic before, and now I have. Do you realize how much time I could have spent watching tv, playing other games, or looking at random pictures of cats asking for cheeseburgers? Instead, I've actually written scripts for mods, stories, and helped build a community! I've answered questions, encouraged discussion, and even paid for DLC for the first time ever.

I can't believe that you would have the gall to make a game that actually managed to convince me to do all this. I was happy just lurking and flitting from game to game, just waiting for my next fix. I was content wandering about without getting to chat occasionally with the actual developers and meeting new friends. I was alright with just wasting away my free time. Now some of it is actually spent in all this productivity nonsense. Well, take a good, long look. I'm a fan now. Ugh. I feel dirty. I hope you're happy with yourselves.

It's all your fault that I no longer have to throw money away once a week to get a decent gaming experience. Four games can do what hundreds before them couldn't, you can't just do that! How can I dismiss and forget a game if I enjoy it from start to finish and feels like playing it again shortly after finishing it?! How should I waste my money now?!

It took me a while to think of a reason to hate BioWare that people hadn't complained about many times already, but I finally managed it: I hate you, BioWare, for giving me a Mabari hound. Again.

While I'm more of a cat person IRL, the idea of having Dog in the party ASAP made me choose the human noble origin first in DAO. Then you make it so everyone with a new copy of the game gets a dog right from the start! And he doesn't take up a party slot, so I don't need to install a mod to have him with me all the time! And he's still great at distracting mobs! And he still gets cute scenes with my companions where they say adorable things! ("Thank you for listening. So few animals take an interest in Dalish history.") Now any CRPG that doesn't let me have a dog feels strangely unfinished, and it's all your fault.

The only right move you made was removing his ability to bring me cake.
