I hate Bioware for making me enjoy a game that so many claim lowers my manliness and intelligence witth their evil "streamlining."

...removing that confusing player agency...
...removing the confounding race/origin choices...
...the expertly recycled environments...
...the wonderful wave mechanics...
...the easy to grasp two-dimensional single-issue companions...
...three unrelated easy to follow narratives...
...presenting mages and templars in an easy to understand Fox-Newsy sort of way...
...a thrilling cliff-hanger ending...

Where do you get off basing your Promotional Canon Hawke Mage off of Gerard Butler from 300? His character was clearly a warrior. I demand more promotional stuff featuring a Spartan Attire for Warrior Hawke. Speech Bubble "This is Kirkwall!!" Not-Optional.
-Signed Reno, still emotionally distraught at not being able to play DA2, because the Game Disc isn't being read by my Laptop. /grumble..

No but it did make me laugh and somehow I think that might be the underlying theme going on here. Just so we're clear I laughed because it's style was funny not because I was smugly laughing at you or your tastes.Drasanil wrote...

I'm more then a little confused. My quick guess would be that you skimmed, which is fine. Or perhaps it is I who is missing something, it wouldn't be the first time and sadly it wont be my last. Regardless, you should go back to the beginning,(for some reason The Princess Bride just popped into my head) read the first post. Then come back and share your 'hate' with the rest of us.Sgt.Catman wrote...

@Nimrodell, "Complexity and realistic behaviour." It's so true where's the hunger meter? that if it drops below 10% I die. Where's the breathe button? Where's the bathroom? Why is there quick travel? I should be walking five real time hours to The Wounded Coast with nothing more exciting then a leaf attacking Hawke (20 nature damage btw). I should also have to leave the game running over night so Hawke can get some sleep, only to come back an hour after he wakes up to discover he's dead from drowning in the pool (I knew I shouldn't have taken the ladder away). Where are all these

You guys made DA2 combat far more fluid than Origns to the point where it's addicting? Screw you! I've played this game twice so far and am still not bored it. It's revolting how many hours I put into this game and all of those hours of fun I can NEVER get back. I expected combat to be more clunky and less responsive and I deserve that. How dare you take that away from me?
LOL! Totally unexpected from the thread title.
Played it 9 times here.

I'm working on my 4th playthrough, and twice I've started a new playthrough almost immediately after finishing another. Normally I need to play something else in between playthroughs to prevent burnout, but I just haven't been in the mood to play anything else.
While the writing could have been better (see Act 3), the combat and likable companions keep me coming back for more. Keep the story dlc coming.

How did DA 2 have better companions than DA:O? You didn't get to learn **** about your companions in DA 2 as much as you did in DA:O and there weren't even as many companions in DA 2. Rant is half true and half full of fail
Meh, in my experience, both games have about the same amount of companion interaction. The difference is that Origins frontloads it while DA2 parcels it out through the companion missions. As for number of companions, Origins had 10 and DA2 had 9. The extra companion in Origins was a dog. The DLC dog you get in DA2, while not a full companion, has a similar number of party interactions and can be used in combat with a similar result.

This thread is taking a wrong turn. We are complaining about how DA2's awesomeness, and replayability is a cruel plot by Bioware to take over our lives, and ultimately the Universe! This is a "hate to love" site.
