What insults and vitriol? This thread was meant as a fun place. No one was singled out and insulted. But hey, have one thread that reverses the popular "DAII is *Insert bashing* and everone agrees meme" in a witty, fun way....you feel slighted. Hypocrisy?

The thread is based on the principle of belittling people whether they slotted into your side or the other [pro or con towards DA2] and for that reason alone it is a negative thread. It reminds me of the sort of school child antics of making fun of the kid with glasses or chubby kids even ones with other such issues. It's simply poking fun at people [keyword there your not poking fun at DAO or DA2 your poking fun at other customers] and as such not a positive thread. For this reason alone I [personally] think it should be locked and another thread created which is less degrading to opposing views customers. As I said "two wrongs do not make a right".

No. This thread is not based on that at all. And I have to wonder at the vehemence of the haters jumping in and acting insulted after they have done everything you accuse the participants of this thread of doing for months on end AND getting everyone's approval.

And do not play the bullying card with me, that's what's insulting after months and months of bullying here on the BSN. So maybe those who feel so insulted and mocked by this thread should look at their own behavior first.

I saw a thread that is continuing the negativity on these forums whether thats pro DA2 or con DA2 and pointed out that I consider this to be a negative thread which promotes belittling of others via the manner in which is is represented. Don't go assuming that I'm out to get you personally. But proving my point by admitting that this is a way to get your own back and lash out serves to show why I consider it a negative thread.

As someone else pointed out, no people were mocked or belittled in this thread at all.

And no, I do not see this thread as a way to get back at anyone. I was simply enjoying it for the light hearted, witty piece of fluff, snark and fun that it was until you turned it into something personal and demanded a lockdown.

Posted a viewpoint about how I interpreted the manner of which this thread appears to have been used and created and stated that opinion. I also said take or leave my comment as see fit but clearly that has set you off like a firework. I suggest you calm down and quit with the victim persona. I merely stated I thought this thread was done in a rather negative way and thought was suprising it was being promoted by Bioware employee's by taking part. It honestly comes across to me as belittling of other paying customers, not a specific named individual but an entire group much akin to what see in school yard as already mentioned bit like picking on the chubby kids or those with glasses etc using snarky or snide wording and phrasing. Simple revenge [imho] which is why I stated two wrongs do not make a right and same principle as eye for an eye.

Now if that opinion offends you thats not my fault, it is one opinion which you are free to take or leave at your leisure. But as clearly shown by the response given towards my simple opinion that this was a rather negative thread with people telling me to shut up [QFT] and get out and such just because I did not wish to join in the belittling doesn't change what I originally stated as my opinion a page ago.

I made comment stating I thought this thread was done in manner of negativity and next thing I know I have about 5 to 10+ people attacking my statement as though it is an affront to god that someone views this thread as non-positive and as such the reaction proved my point.

You brought up that you felt like you was bullied for liking the game over past few months and that you actually said so in a previous reply. You then said this following quote. Hence why I said victim comment and also earlier said you saw it as getting your own back. Both of which is what I merely responded about it being merely revenge for what you saw as bullying which stated felt like to you. This sums up what I felt the thread was coming across as from the offset and why I said it was negative.

"Oh my, I am sorry to see those who have posted dozens threads filled with vitriol and whole paragraphs insulting the devs, mocking those who loved the game, "Awezum button lulz!" trash and other such valid criticism etc. etc. getting a fairly mild dose of the reverse? Yes, how DARE we?"

Funny how I stated my opinion and it was everyone else who jumped upon moi not the other way around.

Where is the positive in this thread? Making fun of others [group] not [specific person] laughing at other peoples expense is hardly a positive tbh. This in reality is a thread for people who like DA2 to make fun of those who do not imho and that was my original comment of which all of sudden everyone crawled out of the woodwork to condemn such a view.

Now you might not see it that way but sorry it is how it comes across to me. The simple fact you call anyone with an opposing opinion regardless of subject a "hater" just like others have done in here is the proof of it just as comment saying how dare the "haters" not let the pro-DA2 group have their payback.

Now I have made my point and tried to reply to those who have problem with my viewpoint but I will leave it there and let this negative (imho) thread continue to annoy people who have also seen it for what I consider it to be much like they do, while giving glee to those making mockery of other people again [group of not specific individual]. I honestly expect such from the player base as stated earlier but I as before am still surprised Bioware is taking part.

Funny...from what I've read, most of the posts in this thread are a cry-foul of sorts to Bioware for making such an immersive and addictively fun game that folks have:

 - lost sleep
 - spent hours playing rather than studying, doing house things, running errands, etc.
 - spent hours talking about the game and dissecting every twist and turn
 - spent hours talking to new friends about said game and about said twists and turns

I haven't seen any vitriol toward groups. Just a lot of tongue-in-cheek, snarky love toward something that has, we must all admit, brought us all here together.

If that's negative, then I clearly need a new dictionary. And thus, I hate Merriam-Webster as much as I hate Bioware.

I know this  was meant as sarcasm, but use of black & white can be amazing in a game.

Mask of the Betrayer did it in the shadow plane sections of the game and it was visually stunning.

You have to admit that the positive opinions have been expressed in ways that seem to make fun of the archetypical "DA2 hater" and their (imo often valid) critics. With Stanley Woo, one of the more (forum) prominent BioWare guys, actively participating. While I know that no BioWare employee would participate in an equally creative anti DA2 thread I'm not sure they would leave such a thread going on like this one. So I understand what problems DA2 sceptics might have with a thread like this.

But I'm with alex90c on this one, this is your thread, have fun with it! I really don't want to spoil or derail this and will just leave you alone now. Enjoy yourselves!
