Haven't played ME1 in ages.  Just got a new system, decided to wade back in.  Reinatlled ME1 (have the DVD version).  Couldn't find my key for Bring Down The Sky.  Tried to log into the Bioware forums, got bounced over here.  Saw the sticky.  Contacted EA Support.  Was told "we have no codes for Bring Down The Sky".  Asked for a supervisor.  Was told the same thing.  So how do I get my Bring Down The Sky code, if the sticky seems to no longer be applicable?

You try again. EA support have a lot of muppets working on the phones. You try a few times over eh course of a few days and you will eventually find yourself talking to a rep who knows how to do his/her job.

Once you get the code, write it down, or email it to yourself for safe keeping.

I spoke to a muppet, and I spoke to an alleged muppet supervisor. Got the same thing from both of them.

And now it gets even better...after multiple attempts and being told "oh no, we don't have any codes for BDTS"...finally get a code from one of the muppets...and I put it in...and now it won't connect to the license servers!

EA is having an known issue right now with payment and authorization servers........yeah, go figure, BF3 just launched.

soo... no cd-keys for BDtS? (sigh) great, and i finaly bought mass effect 1 because i thought i was missing part of the story without it...

You are not alone, in fact after perusing a bunch of forums many people have the same issue. I have a key but I used it when I installed ME1 a couple years ago, after reinstalling to play again the "Bring Down the Sky" key does not work anymore.
What a stupid hassle, Hello someone with control...release new keys NOW! it is not like you are going to lose something.You should feel happy that so many people like the game enough to want to play it again.Arrrggghhh...

Contact EA support, they are the ones both with control, and the keys. It might take a few attempts before you get onto a competent support rep who knows what they are doing.

Wrote this in the stickied thread, but some don't recheck it for new posts, so I'll add it here, too:
This morning I used their 'Talk to a Game Advisor Level Up" link and received a BDtS key after providing the email I use to play Mass Effect 1 (its the same as my origin and steam acct). It took less than 6 minutes. Just keep trying.

Sent EA support an email yesterday about getting the registration key to Bringing Down the Sky, about 12 hours later get a email with a working key. DLC loaded successfully.

I tried over 8 keys they had on file, and nothing worked. I spend over an hour on their chat, and nothing.

This is why I'm not in favor of all this "Online Activation" and "DLC" stuff. After a while it becomes obsolete and companies don't want to waste money supporting old products when they are pushing out new products with a much higher profit potential.

Just let me travel to a store, buy a box that comes with all the content, and let me play offline with no need to put my trust in things that are out of my control.

Well i got the ultimate insult today your cdkey is missing and i cant find your dlc activation for either dlc BDTS or pinnacle station :/.

Wrote my exact cdkey down from the manual of the game but according to them that is missing or not correct

Like mentioned in here they are still giving out the codes for the DLC Bring Down the Sky. I went through two reps, one taking an hour to find codes for the acutall ME1 and ME2 games. None the less the second person I talked to gave me the code in less than a minute and this was as of yesterday.

I had something like that happen to me with Spore Japkap79 and the rep I talked to at that time was very helpful in getting it back up and working. I had to take a picture of the CD's plus the code along with some other info so that he could get it up and running for me. It may be different with ME but I'm sure they could do something close to that if not the same thing.

Tried chat 2 times and got a call back from EA. No luck. They told me it is an issue and will fix it, but no ETA. Will try again next week.

I'm chatting with one now and he gave me a key but it fails during validation and now it wont install. Wouldn't be great it Bioware just removed the DRM and just re-released the exe

Unfortunately its not up to Bioware any more, as they are no a wholy owned subsidiary of EA. This means its up to EA to dedicate time and money to stripping out DRM on a free expansion pack for a 4 year old game.
This will happen about the same time Satan starts going to work in a snow plough.

One alternative once you have a code but are hitting the validation error is to try the work around I posted here - http://social.biowar...index/1942301/1.

Got a working key within 10 mins by using their live chat, the one I talked to was really helpful. I even got a 15% discount code for no reason lol
