Maybe they're keeping the quarians out so they have an excuse to have male-only aliens.
I know, weakest argument ever..
I thought you were able to choose the gender of your character? Don't tell me the previews disapproved that?

We will play as male Asari?

According to the previews you can only choose gender if you're playing as a human. I'm not that bothered given that its a purely cosmetic thing in the MP - for the SP, choosing your gender actually has an impact but it won't here.Nashiktal wrote...

For someone, who hasn't had much interest in multiplayer before, I am getting quite excited about it.
Ah, Bioware what have you done to me: first you opened me up to shooter gameplay, then you made me get a facebook and a twitter account and now this.
Oh, Bioware, you're the devil, you're leading me astray...
;-)
What difference does it really make? I'd like to see female Turians in the campaign, but for MP its purely cosmetic and has no actual effect.leonia42 wrote...
I don't intend to play a human, female turian or nothing.

@albafica Creation of the MP element didn't take anything away from the singleplayer, don't worry.

Its all about the Drell infiltrator for me. The ultimate assassinNashiktal wrote...

With how much work its going to take to even play multiplayer, its a quarian or nothing for me.

And? They went through the trouble to even put multiplayer into the game in the first place. Arguments of resources apparently do not apply here.

I really don't think that the resources they spent on the multiplayer (considering that it was made by a different studio) would've dramatically changed the singleplayer, anyway.
It's like saying that the budget/resources for the DLCs could've been used to change the singleplayer to a point where one version is much more different from the other.
It's more about productivity, anyway.
Having a multi-million dollar budget won't help if the designers don't know what the hell they're doing or how to utilize that budget.
Thats fair enough. Unless female Turians are in the campaign I doubt they'll be in MP, and given that the Asari are all female, and Salarian and Krogan females don't fight, I think Bioware may well just restrict gender options to humans only. A badass male Turian is almost as good as a badass female one.leonia42 wrote...

Because if I'm not actually RPing, I at least want to play the race/gender combination of my own choosing. There could be zero customisation options for all I care, it's just the idea of BEING a badass femturian that really appeals to me.
I don't care. There's so little content tied to playing a different race in multiplayer, you might as well be playing as a human in a halloween costume. Seems like another missed chance to turn the multiplayer from a mediocre distraction into a meaningfull addition.Nashiktal wrote...
What if we don't want to mod the game? What if we can't?
Seems to be conflicting information on this.Someone With Mass wrote...
Each race has a unique ability by the way.

That's something then. There was an interview where someone said all abilities were tied to classes and not races.Someone With Mass wrote...

Or not.
The krogan has the krogan charge (duh) and the drell has some fancy ninja moves. The rest have yet to be announced.

The human adept I played had a short range "force push" as melee attack (very effective). However, once I grabbed, dragged over and killed an enemy from behind cover (which was awesome!) and then the omni-blade came out for the kill.
I'm sorry, but I read that as "Biotic fisting". I guess I'm still disturbed from that one thread talking about the vanguard's melee attack.Someone With Mass wrote...

It'd be cool if they changed that to something like the biotic fist thing Samara used to bash Morinth's skull in, but I guess the omni-blade is good enough.
