I'm sick of crashes.  I'm sick of persistent loading times that prevent me from saving.  I'm sick of your incompetence.  It has been eight months.  Eight months.

I don't have those issues, so maybe just maybe it is in your computer rather than the game??!!??

Post some specs if you want help, or if you really want Bioware/EA to hear you, then send them an email at the OFFICIAL support site, not on this fan driven site.

Crashes are random it seems. The only consistent thing I notice is that sometimes it will just get stuck on a loading screen. Other times while I'm playing the right side loading icon will pop up, and I can't save or load my game.

I am not aware of any error codes.

I do not know how to pull up a reliability report from Windows.

EDIT:  Listen man I really appreciate your assistance.  It means a lot to me. :D

Are you running the game in XP compatiblity mode?? If so stop doing so.

Go to the Start button, click, to bring up menu, then in the search area type Reliability. Then click on the manager to bring up a list of crashes and what Win7 thinks caused it to crash. Can maybe point to an area that is giving issue, whether it is video, audio or other.

Oh, and the game is FULLY updated right??1.03??
Also you may try changing your core affinity to 2 cores instead of 4 and see if it makes a difference.

Twice it has Critical Events for Dragon Age II. I tried checking for solutions and it didn't yield any results. Yeah, Dragon Age II is completely updated. I'm not running in compatibility mode.

As for Core Affinity, how would I go about changing that? Thanks man.

What do the critical events say?? Or is it just DA2 died try again?

Affinity is set in task manager, click on the DA2 process under process tab, then right click to bring up menu and choose set affinity. Pick cores 0 and 1 IIRC.

Also you may try running in DX9 mode to see if it is related to DX11 or some other hardware/software interference.

One simple question have you tried to play the game without overcooking your processor and (if overclocked) your graphics card?

I have a very similar system (except for the motherboard) and the game plays flawlessly. This is most likely an issue with overclocking or drivers.

Well, it isn't. Just confirmed it. Graphics card isn't being overclocked anyway, and I bumped the i5 back down to default.

It's a very bizarre occurrence. The right-hand loading symbol will show up, and it just won't go away. And then I can't save or load, and when I hit exit game it locks up.

It's Direct X 11. I just played the game on DX9 with no problems. Switch DX11 back on and the problem comes back.

Also, I never had this problem until this patch.

So, the point stands. Fix the game, BioWare.

i'm betting it's your configurations that giving you problems and not the game itself.

It doesn't really sound like you're basing this on anything.

Core affinity shouldn't be changed as far as I remember. I've seen DA2 using 50% of cpu power (that is 2 cores full load for me). So it's designed for multicores.

As for not being able to save or load. Check your HDD (hard disk drive(s)) for errors. (you might want to check also for bad sectors but this will take some time).

Run command prompt as administrator. And check all your HDD's with the following command:
CHKDSK c: /F /R
note: change c if you got more logical drives.

I did all these things and the game still locks up. This is the only game on my computer I have problems with. It's not my rig.

Far more often, it's something like Asus' GamerOSD, a bad AV program, or malware.

I just figured it out guys.

It's the auto-save feature. I started to notice a pattern in the crashes, and deactivated it in the DAII ini file. I've been playing so far with no problems whatsoever.

Does anyone know what may have caused this? I really don't get it.
