Okay, I'll admit it. I'm a ninny. I can't bring myself to pick the top-left "you should go" option in the conversation that takes place with the love interest after this quest is done. (Yes, yes, I also felt hideously dirty for siding with the templars one time to see how the story went that way.)
Issue is, I haven't seen the reaction to the "you should go" option online anywhere either. Has anyone taken that option? Does it translate to "leave me alone in my grief?" Maybe "I don't deserve to be comforted, go away so I can wallow in self-pity and despair?" Or is it a more permant sort of "Get away from me everything I love is devoured by evil" sort of option?
I'm totally okay with being spoiled on it. I'm such a goody-goody I felt dirty for deliberately trying a rival!mance path, nevermind picking someone and telling them to go away when they're just trying to be nice to me. Couldn't bring myself to do it even on the run through where I was determined to be, if I can borrow a line from Origins, a complete and utter ****.

I'm pretty sure Hawke says, I'd rather be alone, or something along those lines.

From my experience with Merrill, my Hawke was rude to her with the two branches of dialogue that either blamed her, or asked her to leave. I'm not certain about which particular character you romances, but you might be able to see a video of it online in case you're curious to see how Hawke behaves and acts when he says those lines.

It's generally Anders for me. I've spent more time than I want to admit trying to find a video that shows the different paths for that particular conversation with any love interest, but all I can find are recordings of the options on the right side of the dialogue wheel. Apparently no one with vid software wants to record, grieve, and tell their lover to get bent at the same time.

Do you have a save file that you can use so you can try the various outcomes?

Did, before I accidentally deleted the one with multiple saves thinking it was a different one. Meh. Not at the point where I'm dreading the thought of another playthrough yet. I can get one back to that point if curiosity totally overwhelms me.
