My last problem was that I had some graphical glitches. Which I could deal with certainly, but wanted to fix. So I reinstalled the game in hopes to fix it. That was probably the worst move on my part. I needed another activation code apparently. So I went on Amazon and bought another game, and with it two activation codes. (for the game and DLC's) and wouldn't you know it, those don't work as well. I'd post a screenshot, or tell you the activation codes, but I have the sneaking suspicion that would dig me in a deeper grave. So now I'm sitting here, computer in my hands, wondering how I paid for two games, and still can't play the game. Oh yeah, I registered the game on my profile as well, and now its just taunting me with my characters. I'm not angry at all, I just want this resolved, so I can play the game and have a good time. Please help. I'm not computer savy, in any way and the forums confuse me. This is my first pc video game and its not quite the expierence I had anticipated.
Sad Face.
I can't activate my game.

I can only point you to the EA Help Center, log in there and request live chat customer support.
Edit: Seems like EA has some problems on their part... hopefully they will fix it, if not, contact customer support...

Does anyone know how to manually start dragon updater on a mac? I understand that is malfunctioning for me, and while I realize there is a guid, it isn't mac friendly.

There is no Dragon Age Updater on the Mac. You will have to download and use Modazipin if you want to install addins.
By the way, do you have any updates on your old topic about the graphical errors? It would help if you could get back to me with your Mac OS X version and your type of video card (another person has similar issues, and we want to confirm if it the same bug or not).

I have downloaded and tried to use modzapin. Here are some screen caps that show that while modzapin shows I do have the DLC installed, the game doesn't show it, and more importantly, doesn't let me play it.

Truthfully, I feel like I was boned. I'm emailing EA but from what I've heard, they are the antithesis of helpful.

Okay, then at least your DLCs are properly redeemed at Bioware's side.
I have a few suggestions, but I dunno if they'll do anything.
1) Do you have your applications folder and your user folder on different hard drives by any chance? If so, move the Dragon Age app to the HD of your user folder. If not, ignore this.
2) Try turning off the firewall when you attempt to authorize your DLCs (just remember to turn it back on at the end of this!).
3) While being online, run the Dragon Age launcher and De-Authorize your game, when you next start the game it should try to re-authorize your game and DLCs.
Alternativly, go to Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/Settings - there should be a file called Profile.dap. Move it to the desktop and restart DAO.
4) Go to Applications/Utilities and open Disk Utility, select your HD and run Repair Permissions.
5) Do a full, clean re-install. First, run the Dragon Age launcher and De-Authorize your game. Then delete the Dragon Age app and the BioWare folder in your Documents. Last, hit Command+Shift+G and enter ~/Library/Preferences (copy paste the line if you don't know the ~ key on your keyboard). In the Preferences folder look for two folders called Cider Preferences and Dragon Age Origins Preferences - delete both. Now re-install the game.

OMG. It worked, I had given up hope once I reached the 5th step but the clean uninstall worked! Thank you SO MUCH. You have no idea of the magnitude of my gratitude. I really appreciate that you took the time out of your free time to help me, especially with my computer inadequacies, but your hand holding was really appreciated. You are a lifesaver. Thank you again.

Glad to help, and thanks for being my test subject, this should help solving other people's DLC problems in the future quite a bit!
