I'll jump in and support this to. I can think of a dozen reasons why it would help and none for how it would hurt. I'm all for it.
Splitscreen/Offline Co-op - ME3 Multiplayer has none. Why?

Support. My brother doesn't own an Xbox (or pc for that matter) to play ME3, so splitscreen would be the only way we could play together.

I definitely support it. No gaming capable internet access where I live, and I am unsure if he will be able to snag a copy (I am still unsure if there will be system link).
Split screen would be great.

I love this idea. All my friends are on different consoles, so I don't have any friends to play with online. But I can play split screen with them.

Biowares logic towards Online Only doesn't make any sense to me.
This is not like COD or Halo, where you can have like 10 or more friends that can play with you, since we are talking about a COOP GAME MODE, you need to play with people you actually KNOW or you know them at some degree.
Example:
-You buy COD 4, you start playing the MP, you met a guy who is pretty good at it, you become friends, you start meeting other people and your COD friendlist grows.
-COD W@W is announced, your COD friends bought it, you play with them, you even get more friends to play with. Zombies let you experience a sweet coop feel never felt on a COD game before
-COD MW2 is announced, your COD friends bought it, you play with them. SpecOps let you play splitscreen or online. Got new friends to play with.
-COD BO is announced, your COD..blah blah. Splitscreen online MP is now available!!!! You have a blast playing with your bro and your XBL/PSN friends.
This (at least IMO and experience) won't apply very well to Mass Effect 3 Coop MP.
Example:
You got ME3, you have 5 or less than 10 friends who are ME fans. You want to play with them: they start kicking the Single player first, you are either forced to go to public servers (not sure if will be managed by servers, just guessing) and play with strangers (this is coop game mode remember) or play single player and wait for your friends.
If you jump to the online servers you can experience:
A) A good game, all of your teammates are playing the game it should be. you had a good time. Or with friends, you kick ass together.
Rage quitters or just quitters: People start quitting early for unknow circunstances and the match cancels, or you end up alone or with one less party member.
C) Trash Talking or music listeners: People start trash talking by whatever reason, you mute them, COOP feel lost. Music listeners wont turn down the volume, you mute them, COOP Feel lost.
D) Lag: Self explanatory.
Me and my brother love ME and we would like to play splitscreen, I got 2 xbox's but I'm not willing to buy 2 copies of this game just play some COOP missions which we don't know yet the lenght of those.
Sorry for this "TL:DR" post (and grammar) but I had to point that out.
+1 for Splitscreen as an option!!!

I support, but I don't think quitting will be a big issue, I ,mean there's only like 10 waves, compared to Gears of War's horde mode where the normal difficulty takes around 2 1/2-3 1/2 hours.....

I think it's a little late for this cause( though I'm totally in favor of it). Hopefully they'll have a chance to implement it in the next installments.

definitely agree, why add MP but not allow local, offline play, some of our internet sucks, like when ppl call my house phone, my internet gets disconnected and when you hang up, again the internet gets disconnected, its really annoying at times

When I play Multiplayer I usually fall into the negatively. I start getting frustrated, I dislike people that are annoying and have their music or whatever going. There are other things. I though play online, I don't talk online though. I do get new friends to play now and than. I prefer mostly playing by myself. It be great if more great titles allowed you to play games Offline, Locally with A.I bots or friends, family.. I do play online but not always, it depends what I'm doing. I though will play Mass Effect Online, I love the series and franchise.

I'm always in favor of local multiplayer. Generally the only way I play MP, as all my friends are too cheap to actually buy any game consoles, leaving me optionless. Not to mention, much rather play with friends on a couch then some mute stranger on the other side of the world.

That multiplayer does look like it'd be fun... a real shame that millions won't even have a chance to try it because they don't subscribe to XBL Gold.
Oh and yeah... supported.
Without offline co-op, it's a pointless feature to me.

It's not even that some of us don't have Xbox Live Gold. For example I could If I wanted but I don't have a fast enough connection (3G) to play mulitplayer. Also, some people just don't like playing with people online and would much rather play with friends and family. It just sucks they won't offer the rest of us the same benefits as those who can play online.
