also some of us have Internet plans that limit bandwith. It costs me extra to play against my bro whose on the same network and across the hall from me.
I also can't download anything or perform updates while I play.

Bioware and EA don't give a crap about what a few people want. Besides MP really shouldn't have been added until the next series comes out. But when the master kicks his dog it gets moving. If this cheap excuse of MP is what Bioware has always wanted to do they should have just ignored that desire. But here's to a dead online community in six months.

When I play Super Smash Bros Brawl the best moments in that game was playing agianst my firends try to knock them off the platform and having a laugh while doing so. Not going online against someone who is tryharding the whole time.

This is rather disappointing since a lot of the people that live in my home play this game. Having to buy another system and game just so I can have the enjoyment of playing with someone standing next to me is bogus. It's not like the engine can't handle it, Gears 3, Rainbow Six Vegas all run of the same engine and can handle 2 player splitscreen which is good enough for me. Splitscreen should be a priority over online I think.

I have to agree, there is absolutely no reason at all for ME3 not to have split screen. Other games like the ones you mentioned run it just fine and I think since Mass Effect is more of an offline game to begin with, it would be crazy not to have offline co-op capability. =P

I will not get to play the co-op portion of the game unless it is offline, I do not play games enough for xbox live to make sense. Incidentally the co-op campaign on Portal 2 was my favourite gaming experience of last year!

Yeah that's too bad... but atleast non-Gold players get to play it for a little while. But not allowing for local co-op is definitely a negative in my book against the mode (considering how the engine can most certainly handle it... and same-engine games like Gears 3 have used it).
