not going to happen, much too late in development and i doubt they'll spend time developing/incorporating it, they'll probably be too busy making a new installment or DLC, and since MP was made by another studio, i doubt the BW team will be working on this

At most, a DLC petition is as far as this could go at this point.

I approve of split-screen co-op. You have my vote.

I still support this thread too.

For those who say it can't be done or that Bioware won't do it ... It doesn't matter if Bioware sees how it 'could' profit them, they could do it. They'll get more of my money if they do...

It's possible there my already be something in the works. A reason they are not going to say anything is because they may not be able too. If you say "multiplayer online" only then many people who don't have xbox live will go out to get xbox live just to get the multiplayer part. Once the game is released it's possible they will give us offline.

In other words, Bioware may be wrapped up in Microsoft and EA politics where they're not allowed offline till the game's release...

You bring up a very good point.  There is politics with things like timed exclusives.  I truly hope this is the case, but it still makes it frustrating to anticipate buying a product without knowing that an important feature of the product may not exist, especially since a lot of promo related driving purchases occur during the launch window.   I'd gladly overspend to get DLC items knowing I can use them when playing friends, BUT without the certainty of knowing I will be able to certainly impairs buying decisions.  I use the car buying analogy a bit much, but to not know whether a car you intend to buy will come with tires or not is a bit of a challenge especially when every car purchased previously has come with tires. XD  And the manufacturer says hey we'll let you use our tires, but you have to give them back when you're done.  B)

At this point, I doubt they'll do it... so past the demo, I won't be playing it and it's a useless feature to me.

Atleast there's Halo 4 (assuming that they keep to tradition and provide split-screen like they have in every single game they've ever made in the series)...

You most certainly have my vote for this but, unfortunately, Chris Priestly already announced that there wont be offline/split screen Co-Op. You can play it solo, but thats it. No bots to help or anything. (and why is that, Bioware? ლ(ಠ_ಠლ)

Its really sad, since its already confirmed there will be a "sunset date" for Multi and when that time comes half the game will become pretty much useless to those who still play it. (Yes ppl will still be playing it, trust me). Maybe you can fix this in an update or something later Bioware? We fans would REALLY appreciate it......Really.. :<

All I've got to say is that the SP mode better really deliver and not feel like they could've gone farther without multiplayer...  especially since it's a feature that many people can't even use.

Gears of War 1-3 did splitscreen coop juuuust fine. What is Bioware using? Unreal Engine. The Xbox can handle it. They can handle it.

Bioware really has no excuse to not implement splitscreen. C'mon, at least make the tacked-on horde mode a little enjoyable.

You're absolutely right and what I really dont understand is the lack of AI friendly bots for solo/vacant players.

I mean its not like Bioware would have any trouble since AI squadmates is what we've always had since the first game......so what so hard about putting few on our side in multi?

I'm not defending it not having it as an option, but I could see the AI in this mode requiring a bit more programming given the nuances class customization and the objectives in whatever the multiplayer is. In Gears the bots pretty much need to just path find and shoot stuff, plus Epic has likely only needed improve their existing AI. Since this was tacked on so late, it may not have been enough time to incorporate quality AI.

Yeah no offline co-op pretty much sealed the deal for me not playing multiplayer.

I'd love to hear Bioware's justification on this... especially considering how well games that incorporated it have sold (ie. Can't place blame on any type of Xbox Live Gold campaign).

The Entire Halo and Gears of War series support split-screen/offline co-op in every singer game... and have gone on to be the biggest shooter franchises of this generation (games in the Call of Duty series also supported split-screen).

games that have the ability to be splitscreen and dont do it really pisses me off! When friends or family come down and i want to play videogames with them, i choose games that incorporate splitscreen. I hope they can somehow add it. If not... they wont be getting my money!

I'm still maintaining a thread for anyone still interested in local MP ( hopefully in some from of patch if Bioware will add one).

Collectively there's a lot of people that want it.

Don't want read through the previous pages but in a old blog post about this request they said they might consider adding it in the future. So I'm not sure of the total situation on it but the future may be bright.

I hope they do add it, but I am afraid that if its based on a business decision, I'm not sure why they would if there isn't a way to make money off it. It would open them up for more DLC sales for those who would finally support the mode. If they do have a plan for it, already I wish industry shenanigans wouldn't keep hurting fans be upcoming game feature information from being withheld. :(

@OdanUrr... Even if LAN were included it would still more copies of the game, but the didn't add that either... It's more to do with caving to EA than supporting community.
