I don't think they have much say over anything Origin.

To be honest, I have never liked couch co-op, I hate split screen. However I can see the why so many people would want it. Gather your friends in your home with beer and snacks and just play ME3 MP all day, sounds like fun to me.

Origin is an EA thing. Bioware have no control over it.
Split-screen however is something that bioware can put into the game. I hate how companies assume gamers have no real friends and therefor no need to put offline in the game.

It would be very disappointing if there was no split screen, so what if I want to play with my wife I need to buy a second 360, a second game and a second live account???

Look if you are going to do co-op at all, do it right at at least do a 2 person split screen.

I don't see what the harm in adding a split screen would be. Although I think the reason there won't be is due to a minimum team size.

From how RPS described the mode I think it would suit offline co op down to a tee. Sadly there is probably as much chance of Tali being the final boss of ME3 that we will actually get it.

I wouldn't even mind if it had to be restricted to two players offline, but the MP strikes me as being most fun when messing around with mates.

I want offline co-op too. I loved playing offline co-op in Resident Evil 5, I think it would be nifty if me and my pals could all play offline.

I used to play gauntlet with two other people, all using the same keyboard.

I would like offline coop too, There are never any games that have split screen coop. It's as if game companies think no one has friends that like to come over any more.

I suspect that the reason for cramming online multiplayer into ME3 is EA's dogmatic faith in and dedication to online multiplayer as the "future" of gaming.

This means, unfortunately, that we're less likely to get LAN multiplayer, offline multiplayer, AI-squad options for the MP content, or anything that runs counter to getting everyone online, using EA's servers, and with their PC bent over and open for EA to probe.

Most developer don't even support LAN anymore.

It is a bit of a shame that you don't see developers making games playable in split-screen anymore, especially considering most of us have wide-screen displays now.

But if you play split-screen, you don't need to be online to do it! (Derp.)

And if you play split-screen, you don't get to experience the broad vista of the graphics! (Derp.)

The problem is that splitscreen requires the game to be rendered twice so it's either a drop in the framerate or worse looking graphics (for console gamers at least). For instance, Mario Kart 64 lost some 3D models in splitscreen, Mario Kart Wii dropped from 60 to 30 frames per second.

Im a completionist also so I will be playing the multiplayer part, but I will be playing it solo. Im on PC so I wouldnt be doing split screen anyway (although if it had split screen offline coop I would consider it for my PS3 because I do have some friends I couch coop with). I do wish it could be played offline though as I have no need or desire to be online when I play. And even if I am I certainly dont want to have to join EAs Origin.

I also wish that more games included offline coop. I really do enjoy getting together with some friends and playing something together. Its unfortunate that to do this we have to pull out our old machines (not that thats bad, theres great games to play on them, just sad that we cant do this with our very expensive next gen machines). Its just not the same over a headset. We are all Transformers fans (cartoon, comics, not so much the movies) and were really looking forward to War For Cyberton, but no couch coop there. War in the North will have it but on a game built for three players only two person offline coop. Why developers? Do they really believe the only way people interact and socialize anymore is over a headset or phone?

Don't forget...

And if you play LAN, you don't get to have your gaming habits monitored! (Derp)

I thought they had already stated that co-op could be done offline. Don't remember where I saw it though.

By the way, what is the obsession with split-screen? As far as I know there's been no mention about being able to play the game in your house with your friends. You play online with them which I think negates the whole split-screen deal since you won't see your friend's screens anyway.

Also, from the gamespot video posted yesterday there's no cross-platform co-op. If you want to play co-op with friends you all have to either be on PC, on XBox, or on PS3. Your friends can't be on XBox and PS3 while you're on PC.

I support split screen co-op, but I'm not optimistic that it can be added at this point.

Valve did cross-platform co-op for Portal 2 on PC, PS3 and Mac. I hope BioWare will be able to pull that off.

I just said that there is no cross-platform co-op. It's in the vid.

It can be done, but don't keep your fingers crossed in this instance. Even the split screen is not likely.

I post here because I support ideas like this, but I don't think this one has much of a chance.

Bioware must get this message.

They dont give a crap about the overwhelming rejection of Origin, they're just going to ignore this too.

Bioware caring or not caring about the overwhelming rejection of Origin is irrelevant. They are owned by EA, EA demands Origin, therefore Bioware must comply.

I support this motion! co-op via lan and wlan. Not just a Bioware server.
