I really hope there's Offline, Local and it can work. I don't know why others and companies think it will not work. It sucks. If they put OFFLINE, LOCAL it be wonderful. IT WILL MAKE THE GAME FUNNER, BETTER. It will. you need too listen BIOWARE!!!!! I will love you more if you ADD OFFLINE, LOCAL!!

Back in the day people were all "dont include multi player, its going to siphon resources from the single player", now (hopefully different) people are all "you totally have to include offline multiplayer".
I kind of understand people asking for offline coop, then again, I am not sure its sitting very high on BioWare/EA priority list. Offline is nowhere near as popular as online and in a game which is primarily single player anyway...

I would like offline coop too, There are never any games that have split screen coop. It's as if game companies think no one has friends that like to come over any more.

Wait... what?

Halo series (all of them)

Gears of War series (all of them)

Left 4 Dead series (all of them)

Portal 2

Unreal Tournament 3

Rage

Call of Duty MW2/Black Ops/Modern Warfare 3

Killzone 3

Uncharted 3

All of the above have split screen coop.  Mass Effect 3 is the odd one out if they don't have it... especially considering that 4 of the games in that list are UE3 titles.

I have a reason a good one why they should ADD OFFLINE, LOCAL I can't play ONLINE because of no access. I can in other parts of the place not in my room. I have the OLD 360 MODEL. I'm though saving for the Xbox 720, so im not getting the wifi thing or slim. I have both systems, I'm wifi only right now. OFFLINE, LOCAL is fun for those like me who enjoying Offline, I play online also. I have more fun Offline, it's too less annoying. BIOWARE should do it like Uncharted, Socom and Halo, Red Faction couple others they all have Offline, it's fun.

I support this. Seriously, ME team, you work for BioWare, but you're not BioWare. Don't restrict play because of the company. Don't get me wrong, I love BioWare, but limiting games to only one player per copy of a game is frustratingly annoying. You know a ton of people will buy your game, so why restrict our options. It's already bad enough that they chose against split screen on Battlefield 3. If you're going to have multiplayer in a game, then at least make it so you can play with friends on one console. Some of us like to get together and play together in the same room with restricted internet services and only one available television at a time.

It's more that many of the people who have concerns about multiplayer would have the concerns lessened by the inclusion of things like offline MP, LAN MP, cross-platform MP, AI bots in MP, etc.

Then they (Bioware) should have A)not included multi-player or B) had the foresight to include both bots and splitscreen. As far as multi-player goes, this one is as bad as Battlefield 3, which is an abomination of multi-player by virtue of having zero, absolutely zero splitscreen. In fact, I created this thread shortly after seeing the horror that is BF3 MP.

The second Bioware went from "NO MP EVAR." to "Yeah actually we're gonna do some of that MP," everything changed. It changed what gamers wanted from ME3, it changed their perspective on the game, and it even changed how people viewed Bioware.

People on (and off) these forums have spent the better part of about five years letting Bioware know exactly what they wanted in their ME3. Multi-player was not one of those things. Now that it IS one of those things, and because Bioware decided that it wanted ZERO input from the community about it, we now have something like three or four months before ME3 goes gold and ships to present our problems to BW montreal and BW as a whole, and hopefully they might take some of it. I do not think it is a lost cause, and I hope that Bioware takes this thread, and others like it, seriously.

Since Bioware railroaded us into having multi-player, we (well, actually I, I can't really speak for the entire Mass Effect fanbase) want this new multi-player to be something that I will actually play and have fun with.

As for the whole "online pass" thing. EA shoved those into ME2, and it didn't even have a multi-player. ME3 does have a multi-player. I see no reason for shoving what basically amount to single-player-multi-player down our throats when we could easily use an Online Pass-activated account offline for two players (that's one copy of ME3, used offline for two players on the same console and tv) and two Online Pass-activated accounts on one xbox (that's two two copies of ME3, both online-activated, being used on one console, one tv).

I agree with the OP too. I wouldn't mind having to get Live again as much, but in my new apartment it drops my signal ALL the time. I get too annoyed to continue, which is why I don't play COD anymore. There's either too much lag or on-off signal drops. I would love the option to be able to just play with a friend and coast through it without having to stop and start for the entire experience.

Agreed. /Signed
As for that list of games there, Killzone 3's split-screen was only story mode it wasn't very satisfying.
Plus, I didn't know RAGE had split-screen, I'll look into that.

Me and my brother ended up getting another Xbox so we can play game that don't have split-screen, (Battlefield as an example) But I just play PC now, but it was good, If your TV allows Picture In Picture.

Which SOCOM has offline? I've never seen one with it.

Online multiplayer on one platform is pretty much standard this generation.

I support this, because usually when I see a game like that, I'm like "awesome! Multiplayer! Oh wait, I can't play splitscreen!? Not awesome... Eh... Never mind, I'm not buying this."

Good thing multiplayer isn't a big portion of ME3...

Offline Multiplayer would be great, heck i am fine if its limited to 2 people per console forcing us to LAN to get the full 4 players in one game thing. Most games are only 2 player per console and you have to be LAN or Online to get more people in the game.

I will admit i ddint read the OP but reading the Topic Title was enough to convince me :D
