If that's the case, then it DOES sound awesome I must admit.

However, making this is essentially making a whole new game, which means it'll take a LOT of production time. All the levels and actions...

But it would be worth it, for sure.

If it would affect the release date of the game, there's always a possibility of having it out as a new game or expansion pack.

I'm not against the idea or anything, I'm just trying to be real. Multiplayer and Mass Effect sound as incredible to me as to anybody else, and I'll look forward to anything made as such, as long as it's good.

They already delayed the game to help implement this and polish it. They have already confirmed that no resources were taken from the Singleplayer side to make the multiplayer - Galaxy at War is being developed by BioWare Montreal. This is all in the FAQ on the site.

Yeah I see, thanks man, pardon me for not being informed and well, up to date, I was just thinking out loud.

And I've been trying really hard to wrap my head around the idea of having "Multiplayer" in the Main Menu of ME3, in which you can play cooperative with a friend. Nope, can't do it :D

Now it's even harder to wait until next year.
Or am I being too enthusiastic about it?

I support off line co-op, not just split screen but system link too. My Sister, her husband and his brother and I play CoD black ops zombies this way, would be nice to play ME3 multiplayer this way too. I live in a really rural area of Washington state and the only internet access we get is Satelite....no way in hell im doin xbox live on satelite internet.

Split-screen co-op / local co-op needs to be implemented in this mode. If not, I will simply be unable to play it (I don't have an XBL Gold account). So if Bioware really wants to turn to the dark side at the behest of EA, then by all means feel free to extort your passionate userbase with online-only multiplayer. But if Bioware wants to stay fully awesome, a split-screen option for cooperative play (on console) is a must.

I saw on the Bioware Blog that they "may" include the option of splitscreen, offline, and LAN. Me personally I want it to be conformed. Like I said many times I don't want it to be like Battlefield 3, so sign me up.

And just to add when I first heard about "probably" having those options I was like, so Bioware is this how you guys play mulitplayer together, hook abunch of consoles for each person. That is why I want to be able to play with a local party it's really stupid that games like Battlefield took that route. But I'm sure I don't need to tell you guys about that now.

My brother would actually play multiplayer with me! That would be exciting! So please include local co-op! What would be even cooler - if it combined local with network. Kind of like Crimson alliance! Do it! :D

I would love to have Gears style splitscreen LAN games. I can't imagine it's that data intensive to have 2 consoles or even 4 consoles connected via router telling people where they are.

I don't have a real job, so I can't keep renewing my Gold membership every few months just to play one or two games online.

Put my vote in for this.

I don't really care... but it won't happen, and that's all.

Splitscreen would be awesome! If they want to bring people together to play, I want my friends right there with me, so I can show them what they've been missing!

I support this thread. It's ridiculous and unfair that offline/splitscreen isn't being implemented in the game.

I just don't want deal with screaming 12 year olds, so I won't be playing multiplayer. Not that servers will still be populated by the time I get around to playing it, limited MP like this doesn't tend to last long and I'm not getting this game immediately

I hope they listen too us, I been asking. I support Offline, Local play and with A.I. Split screen is good too for having friends over. I though don't want Offline, Local play to require two players/Controllers too play. I don't like that I have couple games like that, I can't play the features from it. I hope you can play Solo or with A.I. I really hope they add Offline, Local play.

Aye , but I'm willing to bet offline co-op will make it into the game , I mean it's far harder to get online co-op into the game than offline.I think their just covering themselves trying not to over promise given the small amount of time , than later something happens and it gets cancelled looking bad because they said it would be in the game.

My thoughts excactly. Online and offline play with splitscreen and AI options would be great.

I support Offline Co-op.  My husband and I share one Shepard and take turns doing missions, etc. It would be really awesome if we could play together as we've only got one X-Box (two separate accounts though).  So offline co-op wold be marvelous!

ME3's Co-op....

•Does not support Kinect.

•Will offer some way to deal with griefers. "Just know that we are putting systems in place that will let you deal with people that you don't want to be playing with."

•Has playable races besides Krogan, Asari and Drell that "you may not expect" - "they wouldn't normally be looked upon as characters who are for the fight".

•Will get playable character DLC. "We'll be releasing more and more characters through DLC later."

•Has characters that aren't involved in the single-player Mass Effect 3 campaign at all.

•Has leaderboards.

•Has its own Achievements, Trophies.

•Has matchmaking based on skill level - no word on how the latter is computed.

•Is on the main game disc. "Somewhat sizeable, but not so much that it affects the SP experience."

***•Can't be played locally - yet. "It is definitely on the table as something we might add."

***•Won't support user-run servers or offline severs "any time soon".

•Will be tracked by the BioWare Social Network website. "There will definitely be a lot of BSN integration. What the final
list of things is, we don't really know yet."

•Won't have friendly fire - to begin with. "Maybe later as some sort of modifier to the game, but not at release."

•Has "slightly different" - and "in many ways more" - weapon and armour customisation. "They are structured differently so stats don't play the same way."

•Has a story: "At a high level, Shepard is marshalling the troops on behalf of the Earth Alliance so you are technically fighting for the Earth Alliance. From a story perspective, a lot of these groups have come together as a loose fighting
force to stop the reapers therefore they don't fly the same type of banners that would have existed in pre- reaper invasion days."

***•Will one day be taken offline - i.e. there is a 'sunset plan'. "Yes, absolutely. We won't be taking the servers down until we realize that there aren't enough players playing to warrant keeping them up and when we do take them down, we will make sure there are options so the players who are playing don't feel abandoned. If anything is a good example, you can see today that Neverwinter Nights is still supported and we've kept a lot of our servers live on it. So I wouldn't be too worried about us taking down the servers any time soon.

Because of the star'd(***) reasons PLUS the fact that Mass Effect is a single player-driven game in the first place they damn well better add offline/split screen co-op or I and many will be biblically pissed off.

Only one x-box and computer so unless they have cross platform play, I've gotta have co-op. Not being able to play with my wife would tragically upset both of us.

I want this! Cross-platform multiplayer would be awesome as well. If they have a completely separated team devoted to the multiplayer part, hell, why not?
