Sorry to beat a dead horse, but let me run this by for Hold the Line.

Assumptions:
-Kasumi and Zaeed exist
-Omega 4 relay immediately to save crew 100%
-Legion only disloyal SM as a result of immediate Omega 4
-Escort = Tier 3
-HTL... score is based on # of SM's actually Holding [9 to choose from after Boss SM decided] - this is question 1

-HTL Team: 3 (L) Tier 1, 2 (L) + 1 (D) Tier 2, 3 (L) Tier 3 = 20 = All Survive
-Boss Team: 2 (L) Tier 2 = All Survive

Question 2: This is the strongest Boss team I can utilize yet still have my entire team survive, correct? I am not missing some silly detail?
I can of course substitute (L) Tier 2 for (L) Tier 3 [only would increase my HTL score], but I'm hoping to bring two of the Biotic Tier 2's with me for the boss fight [I'm a Widow Infiltrator].

Wasn't able to get a reply in the SM utlimate guide thread, and I'm getting close to the Omega 4 relay so wanted to confirm this.

I'm going to say you overcomplicate things since it seems pretty well explained in the sticky. Now to answer your questions.

1- It's an average, every squad member has a value, add each individual value, then divide that number by 9(squad members left behind). If the result is higher than 2, everyone survive.

Simplified: just leave Garrus, Grunt and Zaeed behind and you're pretty much fine.

2- As long as you don't bring Legion (non-loyal squad member) the ones you bring with you won't die after the boss. Mind you, the last boss isn't that hard if you don't screw around. So you don't need the strongest team you can get (considering you leave 9 guys, anyone who aren't the three defenders can come with you.)


Best case scenario, you get superpowers from this. Worst case scenario, you do another mission after failing to get the ending and forget about the "load previous mission".
