We see several Grey Wardens in Kirkwall during the three acts, and I got to wondering where are they garrisoned? Stroud is a new character, and we can guess the Carver or Bethany is garrisoned somewhere close, but I wonder where that is? We see Alistair in some imports and Nathaniel Howe in others, both with the assumption they are from Amaranthine. (Howe specifically because of Awakening and Alistiar presumably because he is Ferelden). So if Bethany or Carver become wardens...where are they garrisoned? Do the Free Marches have a GW base? Or do they come from other countries to patrol the Deep Roads around Kirkwall?

They tell you the name of the place (Warden's Keep at Ansburg) in the beginning of Legacy. It is northeast of Kirkwall.

I heard something about a garrison in Ansburg. I think Bethany or Carver mention in if they are wardens. Might have been in Legacy.

Carver or Bethany are based in ANSBURG. And depending on the ending, Alistair is recalled to Weisshaupt.

Like others have said they have bases in each country, for example there was a Grey Warden compound in Denerim.

Mind you though Anders wasn't even with the Grey Wardens in DA 2. He kind of ditches them.

I thought when Anders says he chose Kirkwall because it had no warden presence he meant all of the Freemarches.

Quoted to agree with Anders statement. That was my impression as well.

I know like it was said earlier they have cashes and safehouses everywhere like Denerim. In Ferelden the impression was that Soldier's Peak was the old base of operations in Ferelden and replaced with Vigil's Keep after the Blight.

Hmm. I guess that makes Stroud the Warden-Commander of the Free Marches.
