Looking at a comparison video on youtube, to see what the characters are like since I wasn't around for ME1 and see no point in finishing ME2 since ME3 apparantly is getting a comic for choices, and I noticed that in ME1 and ME2 that Ashley looks like a strong independent military woman but in ME3 she looks like she got implants and botox injected in her face with excess make-up. Also.... Is she really wearing a Tight Suit and heels? Why did she drop the Heavy Armor look? I thought she was supposed to be a Soldier class. You know, like default Sheperd who has pretty bulky armor.

Is there a Lore or Game reason why she looks so drastically different in ME3 while all the other returning characters generally look the same as they always have?

The short answer: we have no idea yet.

Bioware claims Ashley has armor similar to Kaidan, but they have yet to reveal it.

Actually, there are some blurry pictures of Ash's combat armor out there.  From what I could see, the armor is dark, missing no parts, and with a white Spectre logo on the front.  Pretty cool loooking.  But most importantly, her hair looks tied up in a braid.

Why her casual outfit looks the way it does, the only answer I can think of is "she's female"

Wait, for real? If so, this news just pretty much made my day. I hope you're not tricking me here, Iakus. I'm very vulnerable right now. Posted Image

Do you know where that pic can be seen?

I can understand why Biotics would want to wear less armor, for whatever reason, but it just feels better seeing Soldiers getting the best gear for combat.

OP:

If you werent around for ME1, and dont care to get involved with ME2, why do you care about it for ME3?

Damn, I gotta give credit here. Based on what I can see, the pictures on the left are perfect and actually do the character justice. Well played, Bioware.

Yeah, shame on me for even thinking it, especially considering proof is sitting right above your Dragon Age character's head.

Does anyone else think that if there never were any negative response over Miranda's outfit. We would never have gotten armor for Ashley?

Probably not. But in Miranda's case, the AAP did help, as (imo) it still spoke to her character, but also possessed some degree of combat effectiveness. At the least, it a start in fixing some of their appearance issues.

Of course Miranda's DLC outfit was a result of the criticism against her suit. I just stated that I think that aside from the obvious DLC armor to Miranda, the dislike of her catsuit is also why they are creating armor for Ashley to wear in the main game itself.

Heck I'm suspicious that the negative reaction to Ash's appearance in the "Escape from Earth" trailer may have had a hand in it

"ME3 is a great entry point for people new to the franchise."
"We're targetting a new group of players for our games."

all comments are paraphrased, of course

Well for one, she's no longer a grunt in the military. Spectres can dress however they want.
