So, why does Ashley look radically different?

And from Mass effect 1 all light armor on females look like catsuits I think you all need to replay it and see for youself. It really looks more like a padded suit at most. So in reality, Mirtanda's Samara's outfits are realistic based on the Mass effect 1 looks of the Light Armor.

And if a specialized diplomat were faced with two or more assassins trying to kill his negotiation partner to prevent a war then he/she better succeed or die trying.iakus wrote...

Was it not established spectre have to get the job done? They don't choose their missions. They don't get the luxury of specializing in only one thing. It seems more jack of all trades. They have to learn whatever they need to. i doubt dropping an improvised nuke was part of Alliance or spectre training after all.The game hiccups and makes Shepard at times brilliant diplomat and then a dunder head. So BW will make the characters what they perceive their need to be to achive the goals they want from a storyline or scene.
Spectres are agents from the Office of Special Tactics and Reconnaissance and answer only to the Citadel Council. They are elite military operatives, granted the authority to deal with threats to peace and stability in whatever way they deem necessary. They operate independently or in groups of two or three. Some are empathetic peacekeepers, resolving disputes through diplomacy. Others are cold-blooded assassins, ruthlessly dispatching problem individuals. All get the job done, one way or another, often operating outside of the bounds of galactic law.
Shepard's pure awesome and can do all of the above. Other Spectres are quite likely more specialized

The argument I keep hearing is "Ashley doesn't believe in wearing light armor on the battlefield. I know this because I heard her say that to one of our squadmates in an elevator one time. Therefore Ash would never wear that because it's completely implausible for a woman to change her mind about the types of clothing/armor she wears, and to suggest that she would is completely ooc."
My arguement originally was that her new outfit/uniform is ugly and should really be changed. And hey, wouldn't it be really nice to see her armor, given we haven't seen a single screenshot of it yet, even though we've seen shots where it would really make sense for her to be wearing it?
And I can't imagine anyone, man or woman, to change their mind about wearing armor in combat without a seriously compelling reason.
I like that outfit - some details could use a review but overall it's a nice uniform / off duty official dress.
So it's all about taste. BW won't change her outfit because some guys don't like it. Some Ashley fans want old Phoenix-Armor-Ash back. I'm not one of them, I enjoyed her old looks but also do so for her new appearance. It's her character I fell in love with, not the looks alone.
Looks change, character stays!

the outfit that was put out first is the EXTRA outfit she can have if you by the collectors edition and thats it, for all of you who are butt hurt she does get armor, and it looks like the "Medium armor" from Mass effect 1 & 2. so yes she doesn't need to be in a catsuit.

If we know this, then we know the other stuff as well. You can't take some and leave the other because it doesn't fit your argument which is silly considering your acceptance of the part in bold.
Ashley likes poetry. Ashley doesn't have a sister. She has three. So you're already good for your knowledge of Ashley to give us what for.
We know Ashley prefers thick armor and a big gun. We know that she's a Marine and considers that aspect to be in her blood. So what exactly are you talking about?
Xeranx your entire intent was to claim I had no knowledge to discredit the argument I made. Note quoted insult. Truly clarification was not even necessary and the insult proves your character. i let it slide but for you to claim injured party and that I spin is just false.
Truly I want a list of facts because people seem to claim they know what Ashley is all about as if they do. I want your personal list because you are the one making an argument that it changed or violated her character and or universe. No insult was implied or explicit from my end as I do insult people only debunk their words/argument. There is literally next to nothing to go on that is fact about Ash. Yes I admitted an error that happened to work in my favor in proving guess what we know next to nothing about Ash and protestations based on established character are bunk.
So far I got for your list per this post quoted 1. likes poetry 2. is a marine 3. prefers big gun 4. prefers heavy armor. Those are situational and can change at any time. As of the events of ME those were true as of ME3 might not be the case. So what are facts that established her character that now causes this suit to be considered a violation of the essence of Ashley.

To me it needs a lot of review. Though I never said I wanted the old Phoenix armor back. I just want a uniform that looks professional enough for a mid-to-high-ranking Alliance officer and Spectre to wear and not be snickered at.
Like I said several pages back, needs more Susan Ivanova, less Robinson family.

/Sarcasm off.
I found Ashley's armor in ME1 to be quite refreshing. A female warrior who actually looked dressed for combat.
Then we had Miranda.....

Then again, Miranda was more of a desk warrior to me.
It's not that hard to come up with a good armor for the ladies and make them look attractive in the process.

It's a shame that the world is so full of shallow people.
Depth is overrated. Shallowness isn't some big bad monster to be avoided, it's a part of life as much as anything else is. Sometimes the simplest things can be the best things.

No, but CoD-bros have extremely short attention spans. Even though action mode removes extremely complex features such as having a conversation, there is still a lot of talking they will have to endure. To stop such bros from turning off the game, having cleavage they can hungrily stare at with the glazed over eyes of zombies will occupy them in between shooting sections.

The world is so effing shallow, half of the guys I know just go for looks and don't care for anything else.
Oh and shallow ppl are the reason why the world is at current status.
Think of it. In "my world" our leaders should have an IQ of not less than 150 and at least some rudimentary moralty. :innocent:
Just my 2 cent. Depth is important and keeps the world together. Everything else ... no details here.

try imagining Kaidan in the outfit. It'll become all sorts of hilarious then.
Of course, Kaidan's real casual outfit will likely have boots that only come up to the calf, pants that actually match the rest of the outfit and a shirt that zips all the way up...

As much as I love to play elitist and speak ill of COD fans I think it's time to accept that this isn't their fault. It's Bioware's. COD fans can stay loyal to a franchise without needless contextually inappropriate ****** and Halo fans (who I've often seen treated the same ways as COD fans) can handle having female characters non-sexualised.Swampthing500 wrote...

It's no Bioware, it is the skeletal hand of EA insisting that ME3 bring in the mindless FPS crowd.

I know it's comforting to blame this all on EA and think deep down the 'true Bioware' exists somewhere, but it doesn't. Bioware sold out.

wow typical video game forum crap why am I not surprised . You just don't like the fact I basically said what people on this thread have no balls to say and that this whole issue is over sex appeal and nothing else . I do not give a dam if that pisses you off but the truth hurts doesn't it . Oh thats right you can hide behind your stupid lore garbage all you want . Hollyood seems to have a handle on sex appeal and kick ass female characters in movies and tv shows .
