So, there you have it... my version now not only explains why she looks and dresses different but why she also "acts" different to man she supposedly loved... it's because of the genetic mutation of her 'clone'... it was near perfect except the genetic code went slightly off target which made the clone-ash addicted to plastic surgery, botox and allergic to clothes.
Nuff said!!

2 - you take a beautiful pic on the left and the worse on the right, about a demo leaked, and not at all polished.
I didn't make the comparison pic. I saw it on reddit a couple of days ago.
Besides, even with her eyes crossed, she's still better looking than the new model.

You must be living on Mars, because I have never seen a normal woman dress up like that without getting paid for it.

Yep.
I think she said that she was against miniskirts in ME1 unless someone bought her dinner.
Something like that.

Well, the jacket is only reminiscient of a miniskirt, but those are definitely thigh-high boots.
Seriously, what were they thinking?

Sure it sends a worrying message that you're only pretty if you look European, but this thread is a little silly. The only thing that bothers me is that before she was wearing appropriate battle gear, now she doesn't.
Catsuit, high heels and long hair are not appropriate battle wear! This is not a question of sexism nor is it a question of a christian being uptight on his values (if I were that, I'd never touch Mass Effect for it's many killings and a sex scene with an alien). This is simply because the hair gets in the way, the catsuit makes it hard to breathe, and the heels makes it hard to run. Furthermore, I'd like to see some armour in battle! You can dress in a catsuit off the battlefield, but you better be wearing some armour!!!!
In battle!
Tied or short hair!
Armour!
Flat heels!
Of the battlefield. Whatever you like.

Srly, why was a buttshot on miranda needed? it was so muche of a facepalm, but no, we need somebody like that in the game. Right? Even when no woman ever dress like that. And especial not if they are under attack of Big-Evil-Reapers.

I can live with both. But actually, new Ashley looks a bit ... pale. Also I think her nose got adjusted a bit (nose bridge) plus her eyebrows are not that dark anymore.
Someone tried to get rid of the "hispanic" touch of Ashley. And that's a sad thing, since it defines her looks greatly.
Overall - new Ashley looks beautiful, but lacks some details that made Ashley "authentic". I just hope they'll fix her face to make it looking more like old Ashley than like it does look now.
THEN again:

Either this picture got edited OR this Ashley is far closer to original Ashley than the one shown in the direct comparison.

Will you all stop your incessant crying and moaning over this? This isn't even an issue.....if someone showed you a picture of those same three Marines in civilian clothing, with their hair down and some make-up on you wouldn't even be able to tell they are the same people.
So Ashley let her hair down and put some make-up on.....so what? What's the problem? Normally the hair may be a problem in combat but this game is well over 150 years in the future and deals with far more advanced technology so today's rules don't have to apply at all....there can be an explanation and adaptation to any present issue.
And you're talking about an alternate outfit....don't like it don't use it.

Anyway, I FINALLY figured out what bugs me about the "new" Ash.
It's the goddamn eyebrows, man. They must have been overtweaked when they gave her a new skin texture.
EDIT: You think you're clever, Photobucket, but you're not.
This was posted in the official Ashley thread.

That argument would be valid if Ashley was actually wearing civilian clothes. She's not. Note the Spectre logo.

Ashley is wearing her "official SPECTRE off duty dress".
No need to have heavy armor while visiting Shepard in jail. Besides that, the combat dress of those three marines won't deflect a bullet.

Where on earth do some people get these
ideas that women are some gestalt entity that all wear heels and
miniskirts all day, all the time? There are women like that, sure, good
for them. There are also women who wear other things, because they
aren't a hive mind, they are individuals. Ashley gave a very strong
impression of not concerned with her sex appeal. That was one of the
things I liked about her, actually.
Indeed. However, I consider her "off duty uniform" not as something that's boosting her "sex appeal". No huge décolleté, no "DAT ASS". Just a more or less functional uniform that's only flawed by those "white panties". Besides that, Ashley isn't "overboosted" sexy. Still looks quite authentic, except "open hair" doesn't work in combat. Heard you can give her a different appearance for combat - maybe she'll have her bun back then.
