I'm not really sure what this post was meant to accomplish, care elaborating? 

Oh, and one's appearance usually speaks volumes about their character. If I see someone wearing all black, upside-down crosses, pentagrams, and black fingernail poilsh, and a shirt that says "satan rocks," I'm going to assume they're a satanist. Just an example.

If I see Ashley, who is (was) a tough, respectable soldier, dressed like that...I'm going to assume her character has fallen in the same pile of crap.

Actually, it's not the opposite. Pardon me for hating skanky outfits. That's not me focusing on Ashley's chest, and plenty of people are pissed about it.

Even 3 inches would be extremely conservative for a video game female haha.  Whiners gonna whine though; yes it goes against her character a little bit, but she'll still be her.  You will enjoy life more if you just sit back and enjoy the cleavage.

Also, it's pretty irrelevant (moreso than it already would be) because that's not even her full armor as confirmed by Casey...

Anyways, the redesign does seem out of character for Ashley, but, to be honest, I may simply have made unfounded assumption about her character. She does LOOK very different, but hopefully she's still a badass.

Haha I think I could "handle" your sky-is-falling-rhetoric based arguments even on an off day.  Sorry I assumed you were focusing your concerns on the cleavage, I guess what I've been reading on your past 50 posts caused me to make that assumption. 

Anyway, if you don't like the majority of ME3's stylistic and narrative decisions, that's your right.  But honestly, there comes a point where you have to just admit that something isn't for you when you don't like the majority of its aspects.

I'm sorry but this stance of the outfit undermining her character doesn't really make sense. In ME1 Ashley talks about dancing in a tin-foil miniskirt and makes fun of Kaiden for not taking a lot of shore leave. Beyond that her dialogue with Shepard seems to indiciate some sort of wild streak. The fact that she wore an alliance uniform when she was still under the alliance chain of command says nothing about her character. At most you could surmise that she is a tough soldier who knows how to work hard when she needs to a party hard when she can.

I dont get the radical part... She looks the same. None of her features changed. She put on didnt clothes and let her hair down/ can have it up. She didnt go from white to black or asian or something. If you said she changed radically, I assume you mean like Isabella from DAO to DA2. That is a radical change. She changed race and all.

By plenty of people you mean a handfull of the vast majority of players, right?  Im willing to bet the great majority of fans have no problem with it at all.  Cant please everyone.  Certainly not those that will cry at the slightest deviation of what they have constructed in their mind already.  As for me being a blind idiot, it is just your opinion.  You being a whiner, however, is fact.  You've gone to great lengths to prove it so (go ahead and use that line back to me about me proving to be a blind idiot, you know you want to). 

Heck I didnt even notice the clevage the first time I looked at the pics (maybe that further supports your blind argument lol).  And really, if a little bit of clevage constitutes as skanky to you then im sorry Ash's wardrobe dosent adhere to your deep rooted puritan dress code.  We'll get the bioware graphical team to consult you before making any future designs.

Especially in a visual media like video games. How a character looks is the main way to tell who and what a character is, and what his role is in the game.

Now ME2 went further with this than ME1, (which is why the change to ashley is all the more jarring without context) but it is a great example of how the visual medium uses visual design to help identirfy and reinforce a characters identity.

To start with an extreme example, look at Jack. Her tattoos, the shaved head, dress wear all reinforce her "rebel convict" character.

There is also thane. He is also designed to look like an infiltrator, and assassin rather than a frontline soldier than compared to zaeed.

I thought everything has been said about Ashley's outfit? It's her casual dress, call it "diplomatic attire" - whatever. That's what Ashley is wearing when not in combat (and when there's enough time to change).
She'll get combat armor. Shepard isn't charging into battle without his armor, why should Ashley? Unless she suddenly turns out to be Miranda in disguise, she'll pick armor over looks.

Her off duty dress is okay. I'm not a fan of her "white panties" (or pants), give'm a different, darker color and I'm fine. That's all. The "boob window" in the middle and right dress is okay - can be there, but also can be replaced by a Specte Logo. Hair down - Hair bun - I don't care, as long as I can change Ashley's appearance, I'm sure I can "do" her hair as well.

Guess Ashley's appearance in ME3 seperates true fans from those who are not fully supporting Ashley. <_<

I think I need to pull that line because a fan should support his/her beloved character because of that character and not (only) how he or she looks.

Wish I could explain it with better words, but that's it basically. You can agree or disagree with Ashley's off duty dress, sure, but abandon her because you don't like how she looks is ... yes. Like what I said.

I don't know cpt, if batman started wearing bright yellow colors and boxers for arkham city,, and that is the only thing we have been seeing him wear, (outside his pink shirtless outfit offered in preorder) then of course people will be upset. Even if he the fans were told that he would wear his normal black suit while on missions it seems like a radical change for batman as a character to do.

The tweet about Ashley having armor (the one that finally clarifies that what we have seen is only "casual wear" that she can bring into combat apparently, does that mean shep can bring tuxedo into combat?) is very recent and even then it still does not show us what she looks like in armor.

I have more faith now of course, but it wont sway those who hate the new look, and coupled with the fact these changes happen after ashley's writer had left... Well people are legitimately worried.
