So, why does Ashley look radically different?

Yeah I'm hoping they don't do that considering how insignificant that request is.CptData wrote...
There's still an option to do a petition so BW staff will replace Ashley's new facial structure and brows with the "old" face. After all, that shouldn't take too much time, it's just a detail.

Depends on what you see as "insignificant". Why should Ash change her nose?

Probably for the same reason anyone gets plastic surgery. To be more attractive to the opposite sex but when asked about it lie and claim they "did it for myself."CptData wrote...

Well, you see, it's been two years, and people change, ya know? She's more comfortable with herself and unafraid to look pretty now. She's stylish now. Isn't it obvious?
You're some kind of prude who wants to put her in a burka for even suggesting that her new nose is out of place. Get over it! I like it so you should just shut up and leave! She's hot now, I should do an ME run where I don't leave her guarding the bomb now!
Now that we've gotten that out of the way. I'm wondering if Ash's face is not quite finished yet, and is still being fine-tuned for the game. I'm sure making a face look and act lifelike is no small feat. Thus why I'm a lot less concerned about it than the outfit.

All I ever see is, "who cares?" .... guess what? ASHLEY FANS CARE!
If you don't care then don't even bother to click on the thread. If you don't care, then it shouldn't matter to you how we want one of our favorite characters to be portrayed in the final game. We want her character done justice, so obviously we are going to let it be known.
YOU deal with it.
Trust me. I know that you care. It's just the amount of bawling it's hard to comprehend. I ask the "who cares" question simply to reassure my faith in humanity. Certainly, there aren't little girls at home, typing themselves into a Fan-fury because Ashley (A fictional character) got a makeover.
I am giving you more credit than that. You and everyone like you are better than that. The issue is a non-issue. You fans need to suck it up. Bioware, even if their gameplay sucks, their content is short, their graphics are average (not that i care too much about graphics) still know how to write good games. That's their legacy, they have good writers. So calm your ass.
Especially, since good writing has very little to do with her BLOODY CASUAL OUTFIT.
I am convinced there is no substantial criticism here. You guys just want to whine.
It's funny that Sgt. Reed and iakus are only posting here because they're responding to you and others who are contesting or dismissing their concerns.
I'm convinced you're only here to criticize them, tbh. So, you know, if you don't have anything constructive to add to the debate, it's probably time for you to move on to another thread.
The reason I keep responding is b/c I genuinely care about what happens to this situation and post in hopes that the devs continue to see we aren't pleased.
It just gets on my nerves when people call it all out as "insignificant" changes when... obviously, in our eyes, they are not. Sorry, but a big part of Ashley's character was her looks. Looks to give off that strong, independent female vibe. YES, her eyebrows and outfit were a part of that. Whether people want to admit it or not, appearance plays a role in how you perceive a character. No one would have taken Wrex seriously had he been a super skinny krogan that could barely stand in his armor. I can't take Ashley as a professional spectre in a get-up like that...
and as for the eyebrows, they are more feminine without the angluar dimension to them.
Add all that to the fact that her writer is gone... it makes me worry about the direction of her character in ME3 and whether or not she will be the same Ash.
I think my concerns are more than "insignificant" and I'm not just going to roll with it b/c it's BW's IP and they can do what they want. Until the game has gone gold I will try to do what I can to be heard.

Straight from ME1. This should quell whatever "But she just wanted to be lighter/move quicker" argument.

Ash was always the practical soldier type. Taking a catsuit into a fight doesn't seem like Ash.
If it's just her "casual" outfit, and NOT the combat one, then that's....a little better. I still want her to wear an actual uniform.

"Casual" is definitely what I'm hoping for with the attire as well. Hopefully the concept art of her in armor is the actual armor she'll wear on missions.Ghost-621 wrote...

I agree with you, but you can argue that she wore her heavy armor during Horizon and that was two years after Shepard's death. From my perspective, that armor worked for her, so why change it only after a few months? Maybe because of her new status

The "boob window" outfit was just an alternate concept art of her current cartoon outfit. And even with the boob window, IMO, it looks way more professional. I would rather have it. (That alone should put down all rumors about me wanting a burka for Ash)
