It is sci-fi / fantasy after all; by definition, anything 'goes'.
Maybe the alliance were just cheapskates, and Shep is a traditionalist =P
Plus, Red makes a good point just now, mass effect shields.

DLC. Granted, proper clothing should be implemented before the game is finished, not after. I see no reason to complain as of right now because of how little we've seen of Ashley. Maybe because I have a "this could be worse but it isn't" attitude towards the whole situation.xxSgt_Reed_24xx wrote...
OH and did I mention that if we "don't give a ****" until the game comes out...
well, it's too late then, isn't it? There's no point in caring afterwards, at all.

Both femshep and maleshep come across as hardened soldiers.
The companion armor is linked to their global image and part of their defining look.
And therein lies the problem with Ashley's new "image".
Hypothetical.
See I'm easy, I'll see where this'll go and most likely be happy regardless.
As to Ashley, assuming they stick with the personalised look for companions out of ME2, Ashley logicly would get an overhaul. And while vanity doesn't suit her, it for instance also doesn't really suit me, then again I still like to look good.
But agreed, overhauls within reason, still I see little reason to stress if they've said they're getting multiple outfits and we've just seen the one atm.

That is a very good point, you can tell that her skin has gone from 'ambiguously brown' to 'completely and totally white'. I'm surprised that aspect hasn't been talked about a lot more really, because frankly I find the idea of removing the ethnic characteristics of an established character in the process of giving her 'sex appeal' to be pretty offensive.
Thing is, even if there is a justification or character arc explaining why Ashley went from a suit of armor to the outfit she wears now, no amount of character growth can explain a f*cking ethnicity change.
I mean as I said before, I like Ash enough to be able to overlook some of this (the romance dialogues that were leaked to me give me enough reason to believe that under the outfit and the new looks and all that it's still the same Ash) but all the same, not happy Bioware.

I think she looked good either way, so yes in extention I don't care per say.xxSgt_Reed_24xx wrote...

You'll be happy regardless? Then why not let us complain and have Bioware actually listen to the fans of the character rather than people who don't care one way or the other or the ones that just want eye candy?
Of course she would get an overhaul... but a complete disregard for her personality and role in the process? There have been plenty of alternate Ash in armor pictures in this thread alone that shows that she can still look good and yet still have some type of armor. It doesn't have to be the same look as the previous two games but it needs to stay IN CHARACTER.
YOU CAN STILL LOOK GOOD IN ARMOR! It's like no one understands that. Ash was sexy before! damn sexy.

Well you get differnces in skin pigmint when you're in artifical or natural light. Ashley serves in space now, not on colonies so she's getting less natural light which lightens her up naturally. the she's just lighter then that's why.V-rex wrote...
Well I certainly hope that it's just the lighting, that's for sure.
DUDE SHE'S GETTING ARMOR. IT'S BEEN SAID FIVE TIMES REED! LISTEN!xxSgt_Reed_24xx wrote...

Or you can quit your ****ing since you DON'T know about her character therefore your assumptions are jsut that assumptions. you don't know what her character is in the final version. She has sex appeal, she had it in ME1. She, like everyone, has new clothes and looks different in the graphics engine. Still doesn't change that she's a badass Spectre and an Alliance Commander. she will not take crap from you, Shepard, or anyone else. That has not changed.

I think reed is more grumbling about the mindset behind the new design rather than not actually getting armor. (which would be very nice if we could get a screenshot for.)
When we are told that the mindset behind her entire design is sex appeal, and we get nothing but twitter promises about any other suit she might have (while again only seeing this worrisome suit and another with a boob window) well what do you expect people to think?
After the general style choice bioware seems to be taking lately it seems foolish not to worry lest we have another miranda.

Armor or no armor - I very much dislike the design of this so called casual uniform. and I've already explained why multiple times.
and no, its not Ashley that's choosing to look like that, its developers who want her to look more "in your face" sexy.
meh. lucky for me, I play on PC so I'm sure someone will come up with casual clothes replacement for her soon enough, at which point I'll be putting her into the same attire as whatever they give femshep.
and what Nashikal said, above me.

I need to get me a friggin gaming PC...
that way I can just "not give a ****" and mod anything to be the way I want it to. Armor for Ash and her ME2 face.

I can't use textmod because it makes my game lag like WHOA. But since I have Kaidan in a majority of my games it's not an issue though. I'm just kind of bummed one of the BAMF females is running around in something that looks so...bad. It's not even like it fits how she was in ME1 or ME2.
jeweledleah wrote...
I'm not sure you'll need texmode for that... i hope you won't, I cannot run ME with text modes either :/ while I have Kaidan alive more then Ashley, she's alive in for one of my 2 canon Shepards. which means it will bug the hell out of me, especialy since that particular Shepard is a renegon and I tend to get into her head a little too much when I play her O_O
