So, why does Ashley look radically different?

I swear, I swear I saw her in real armor in a picture once. At least once. It was basically Kaidan's armor, with a slightly different color scheme.

Here's something, not terribly conclusive as it is blurry, but it's something.

Ok!  I found a clearer picture of what that article was talking about.  Unfortunately it appears to be slightly more formal looking clothing, perhaps even just different concept art on the way to creating the final version.  http://img3.imagesha...6/ashleyme3.jpg
However, Casey responds to this on November 25th, on his twitter feed.

http://twitter.com/caseydhudson

"Those are all clothing concepts. Ashley has full armor and helmet similar to Shepard's, which I don't think have been shown yet."

I'm not here to argue, or insist on anything, just to suggest keeping a cool head.

No one knows how Ashley's armor will look like.
We know that she'll get some kind of armor, but either it's not finished yet or it is and the Devs simply don't want to give info away regarding that matter.

I'm glad I'll be able to give Ash different outfits. I don't have to stay with her blue outfit with those white panties, that's good enough for me.

You know what's hilarious?

Is that this whole debate/flame-war could have easily been solved by Bioware; by showing proof of what they say. Its not spoiler territory to post a shot of the character in Maya. (Or 3Ds Max, whatever they use.) And it would have taken about ten seconds. ArenaNet does it all the time, and to great effect.

If they can cater to the CoD fanboys turning the bulk of the series into a shooting gallery, then this should have been a breeze. Instead, it seems like they want people to duke it out; which further enhances my suspicions (As someone else here mentioned.) that Bioware never had Ash's armor in the first place. Either that, or they're mildly sadistic/masochistic.

But will we have multiple options for noncombat looks? Will the armor be for combat and the blue for noncombat? Can we switch them around? Will we have the black outfit as an option?  Will we have to play have the game or worse, wait a year and pay extra to have access for options?

I think we get at least one additional non-combat outfit to choose from plus the one you can get with the CE. I won't get DLC outfits most likely.

Lets hope you can customize it. Maybe we even can pick colors of her outfit, like for Shepard's armor in ME1. That should do the trick. As long as I can get rid of white pants, I'll do it. Either by re-coloring that armor with ingame options or by picking an alternative outfit that doesn't come with white pants.

While I like the sound of this, I'll need a quote for it.  I don't dare trust to hope.  So far all I've heard are there will be a variety of armors that give different stat bonuses.  I've hear nothing of noncombat outfits, aside from Ash's CE outfit, which is just a recoloring of the blue outfit.

Wasn't that confirmed ? That we could tweak and customize party members' armor ?

Armor - yes.
Casual non-combat outfit - no / not fully.

Can someone prove me wrong?

Eh? I thought the only customization that was confirmed was for Shepard?

The only customization I've heard about is "pick one outfit from several with different stats". Never heard that squadmates' armor might be recoloured.

I'd wager... both.

Yet another confirmation that Ash gets armor in the Twitter thread with the concept art link.

Concept art isn't really a confirmation, otherwise Miranda's hair would be blonde and in a ponytail..

I'm talking about the description rather than the art but I take your point.

"We tried many hairstyles for Ashley. Ultimately the team decided on a less formal look, appropriate since she and Shepard are well acquainted by Mass Effect 3."

I'm not sure I've read this before, but whatever. I don't mind the hair, although this explanation is pretty ridiculous.

I noticed that in ME1 and ME2 that Ashley looks like a strong independent military woman but in ME3 she looks like she got implants and botox injected in her face with excess make-up. Also.... Is she really wearing a Tight Suit and heels? Why did she drop the Heavy Armor look? I thought she was supposed to be a Soldier class. You know, like default Sheperd who has pretty bulky armor.

Looks drastically different? I'm sorry but what? I'd understand if this thread was about Kaidan...
Ash pretty much looks the same, the only differences is that she wears her hair differently,is a bit paler (which might have been just the lightening) and she wears only slightly more make-up,the difference is barely noticable.
And it's already been said that she gets armor.

But I really like that you are so concerned about this when you haven't played either one of the games...just fyi, the character you're playing is actually called Shepard.

Right, so "Barely noticable," that nearly everyone one of her fans ended up here, to object.<_<

The differences are staggering, mostly due to the fact that, as of right now, they completely smack ME1 Ash right in the face, apparantly while holding a bag from Macy's makeup department.

And your last sentence makes absolutely no sense, unless you're stabbing a minor spelling error, in which case; grow up.

So it's not just Liara with a canon friendship then.

False and the arrogance that is yours, to take you for the only fans of ashley, you who are complaining, screaming, that is pathetic. And that makes me despise a little part of that fanbase, where everyone thinks he is a fan of ashley better than others. Or the only one.

I followed the debate about ashley since the first time her new look appeared, and there were many fans of Ashley, or those who romanticized her who said they liked the new look, or better that  they preferred it that way. Others say that they do not need to complain from the time it is said she would have an armor. The topic of Ashley that I read every day, does not show a tendency to nervousness and despondency facing the new look.

You are just louder than everyone else, we do not need to multiply the topics every day to make believe that our perspective is that of everyone. We do not have hatred to project, because we are satisfied.

The worse, is that those who killed her, who didn't stop to repeat proudly , i killed the ****, who didn't give a crap about her, are among those that pretend she is everything for them; Pleaaase, get over yourself.

Now, yes there are really people who are concerned about her, but the opinion is pretty much polarized, so stop telling yourself, you the " ashleys's fans " are the only one that defend her integrity.-_-

I love ashley, and I love her new look. I know she will have an armor, so I don't see what I would complain. it's not like I would be forced like with Jack and Miranda;

I like her spectre outfit and that she let her hair down for once. It shows she's gained more confidence in herself from ME1 where she says she doesn't feel she's good enough for the things she fights for. The fact that she still hates politicians (angry at the run around she got in her meeting just like she used to get angry when we'd meet the council)  Shows she still has similar qualities to go with her growth in the past 3 year.Image IPB
