You are on these forums questioning the reason for their existence? Way too existential for me.

You realise that by employing the argument that it is Bioware's creation so you must accept whatever they do with it, you forfeit the right to EVER complain about ANYTHING they do?

edit: and, in fact, anything that you yourself did not create

Its so short, yet, it says so much. :wizard:

Er, your post made little sense, considering you directly implied that, just because its a game, its military would deviate that far from regulations and decorum. Bioware has rooted much of this story in real life, and the Alliance military operates very much, if not identical to how most militaries do now. (Considering its a direct branch of a future version of the militaries we DO have in the present.) Meaning its regulations against makeup and such are identical.

And you'll get crap for it, because you (Like your friend AD with his obnoxious Snape GIF.) seem to either misinterpret or blow what people like myself, Nashiktal, Godwood, and many others post, our of proportion. Usually to either demonize and/or discredit our views and opinions.

Yes, Ashley Williams is Bioware's property, and they're free to write her as they wish, but that doesn't stop the fact that official sources can screw up their own lore. Its called retconning, among other things. Something that Bioware has been accused of in the past. That, and considering Ash's chief writer left the project, the idea is more realistic than you'd think. But even more to the point, if you'd care to actually read some of these posts, you'd find that many (Including myself.) of us "Forumongers," have stated that "As of right now," no logical, story driven reasons for such dramatic changes have been given, and that until such things appear, many people feel justified in their objections.

Regardless of the inane masses that find it much easier to "Play it cool,"  and accept such things at face value, without offering anything in the way of articulate debates and/or sound reasons to counter our logical observations.

I completely understand your point of view.  You don't like that Ashley's 'getup' is overtly sexualized.  While I may not agree, I do think your opinion is not baseless.  I am not out here to demonize you or any of the other guys you listed, or to attempt to discredit you.  Discrediting on the internet is basically impossible what with the whole anonymous thing.  As for the lack of a story-driven reason, I think they just said that the blue suit is Alliance officer issue, although that may have more to do with an attempt to make the squaddies stick out from the rank and file.  If she was going to go out into combat like that, I'd be more inclined to complain, but I prefer to assume the combat armor will be a bit more armored.  The loss of Ash's writer is kind of worrying, but I have read the spoilers and it appears from the small amount of dialogue her personality is intact, so I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt.  This is merely my opinion, which I am giving, same as you.

Well, that went a lot better than I'd thought it would. I think it deserves a smiley.

And it brings another thing to mind; in the end, if those of us who see this and other things as warning signs are proven wrong, I won't mind in the slightest; because if that happens, then ME3 will be a spectacular game. I still don't care for the way things are, and past events have a way of scarring the future, (Like Arrival, ugh.) but as I've said before, my/our ultimate judgement will be reserved for the actual game.

We're not unreasonable, (Well, most of us aren't.) we just show our concern, and unfortunately, especially over the internet, that can warped, perverted, and ultimately turned into a spiraling ball of suck that only ends in headaches for both sides.

Looks drastically different? I'm sorry but what? I'd understand if this thread was about Kaidan...
Ash pretty much looks the same, the only differences are that she wears her hair differently,is a bit paler (which might have been just the lightening) and she wears only slightly more make-up,the difference is barely noticable.
And it's already been said that she gets armor.

But I really like that you are so concerned about this when you haven't played either one of the games...just fyi, the character you're playing is actually called Shepard.

Right, so "Barely noticable," that nearly everyone one of her fans ended up here, to object.<_<

The differences are staggering, mostly due to the fact that, as of right now, they completely smack ME1 Ash right in the face, apparantly while holding a bag from Macy's makeup department.

And your last sentence makes absolutely no sense, unless you're stabbing a minor spelling error, in which case; grow up.

With "barely noticable" I meant the make-up. Oh and  I'm sorry. I didn't know I ended up here to object to her new looks, thanks for telling me that.
And my last sentence does make sense, thank you very much. And yes, if someone who admits to not having played ME1 and isn't going to ever finish ME2 starts a thread about how one of the characters -that only has a five minute cameo in the second game (and who knows if the OP even played up to Horizon)- has drastically changed looks then I will point out that they do not even know what the main character is called.

Its done. There is no argument to be had. She's not sexed up. She's not dressed like a hooker. She is wearing the same goddamn armor as femShep.

END OF DISCUSSION!

Now she looks as dangerous as Femshep. I like the armor look for being on the field. Lets hope we don't have vaccum encounters with face masks again for everyone else.

Wouldn't be the least bit surprising, really.

Let Ash have her hair down in peace, she wants to be able to shake her mane in the wind when she removes her toggle-helmet after a mission for Shep.

And that is 100%  acceptable.

I will shut up if her "casual" (or whatever you want to call it) outfit is as cool looking as that outfit.

Or if I can make that her default appearance.  That works too

Yay! That still looks lighter than Kaidan's, but he somehow managed to look heavier armored in light armor than my femShep in medium in ME1 as well.

Yay!

Final-effing-ly!!

Now I'll wait for all those who desperately wanted to say "told you so" so I can turn around and say, most of us told you we WANT to be proven wrong.

Oh, the laughs I'll have at their lack of ammunition.

**edit**: I am going to say I hope I don't have to spend extra for it.  And yeah, I was looking at her hair at the same time as I saw the armor.  Out of her face in combat (face is still weird, but...eh, i'll take what wins I can get) and I won't say anything until game time.  Then we'll see what Bioware did with the writing of her character.  Yeah, Bioware can't win. *shrug*

Eh to me it wasn't about the armor so much as what she's wearing when not getting shot at.  If I can make it so that it's all that Spectre armor, all the time, I'm happy.  Or something that says "I'm a Spectre, don't frak with me" as well as that armor looks like it conveys.
