Garrus without question. I always used him. He's my favorite.

Most likely will swap back and forth between Liara and Kaidan. Might use Liara more as she is my Shep's love interest.

Probably won't use Vega unless he's locked in at some point, nothing against him. I never used Jacob either as there were far more interesting characters. And in ME3's case its like I have blinders on, can't focus on the new characters, too busy being excited about seeing the others again.

Otherwise, Jack, Kasumi and Wrex, assuming they return, and if its for certain missions then I will definitely use them then otherwise there goes my chance.

Of the confirmed squad it'll most likely be 90% Kaidan/Garrus. Maybe Vega, depending on his specs, but I don't typically find soldier-builds awfully useful next to my Sentinel.

Non-confirmed: Jack, Kasumi and Miranda were go-to squaddies for me. Mordin too but he's likely just a cameo in ME3.

My preferred choice would be Liara/Miranda. You work your magic while I shoot he crap out of everyone around. Plus, I love them both as characters, they make my games so much more pleasurable.

My dream squad for ME3 would be Tali and Jack. Wouldn't mind Thane and Prothy thought..

Given the list: Liara and Ashley. You have the controller (Liara and her biotics), the damage-absorbing "tank" (Ashley and her soldier skills) and Mara is an infiltrator, so she can deal massive damage and handle synthetic enemies reasonably well.

If it's an obviously synthetic-heavy mission, Tali will take Liara's place.

For me it depends on which play through i do, my main male shep (soldier w/reave bonus power to strip barriers) will be teaming up with Tali (LI) and Garrus (brother from a turian mother) to strip shields. My main fem shep (soldier w/Energy drain) will have Garrus (LI) and Liara (biotics) Kaidan was her LI in ME1 but she dumped him in favor of everyone's favorite sniper who likes to savor that last shot before poppin the heat sink (so he's relegated to babysitting the normandy).
