hello all!
I am currently playing my first full round as a rouge PC, and when I attack villans in combat, I notice a little icon with 2 crossed swords and a circle/semi circle on each target I am striking. What is that?
I have played as mage and warrior, and I have seen the little shield icons that mean the target is immune to that attack, but I havent seen the little crossed swords.
Also, do I have to get behind a target to get optimum damage as a rouge as I did in DA 1?, or can I just wail from any postion like my mage and warrior PC's usually do?!
thank you!

The circle is a meter indicating how many regular/autoattack hits your rogue has dealt recently. This is useful because some of the special abilities do more damage when used, depending on the state of that meter.

Yes, you're better attacking from behind. You don't do backstabs like in DA:O, but you do have a higher critical chance.
Re. the crossed swords icon: when the circle fills up, you'll do the most damage with the Explosive Strike ability.
