I still play Origins. I've played through Origins more times than DA2 just in the time since DA2 came out. I actually love the Deep Roads section. I usually save it for the weekend when I can do it all in one sitting.

I'm trying to get through DA2 a second time but I can only play it a little at a time. I do want to have 2 different playthroughs in case I decide to pick up a potential DA3 game.

When I built my new PC, Origins was the first game that went on it,

I'm just wondering why exactly someone would uninstall it.

I Unistalled ME1 & DA:O/A also.  Because, I have 6 play sessions on each, the save's have been moved to DA2/ME2, just waiting for 3rd instalments.

I got to 100 games on Steam alone, If I haven't touched a game in 6 months, it gets removed, :P

Wow. I'm feeling a bit similar.

I played DA2 exactly when I had one Awakenings run and several of DA:O half-ways finished, though had playing them non-stop. After the "blah" DA2 I felt tedium and sighed (when the initial fever had gone down), so I've basically only logged in Origins a couple of times, only to play 5 minutes of it every time.

Figuring there's still a chance DA3 would rekindle my interest toward the series and new Bioware (/EA) in general.

Sometimes I think about reinstalling DA:O, but then I remember how tedious the Deep Roads were and just click cancel. Maybe one day I'll manage to forget how long and godawful boring it was - it could happen - if a piano falls from the sky and knocks me unconscious, putting me in a coma for a year that is.

That part was slightly retarded.

But anyway, i agree that the Deep Raods are horribly tedious. I've got a mod to skip the fade, but one really needs to be released for the DR.

Every time i play DAO or think of playing DAO i'm put off by that segment that takes up half the game.

Really? I have the skip the fade mod too, but I found the Deep Roads tolerable as long as you had Haste going and break it apart a bit. I normally recruit Oghren then do another storyline for a bit, level up and then cut through the roads like a hot knife through butter.

Then I remember how bad DA2 is and just clicked cancel, I cant play characters knowing that at some point they might have to be in DA2.

Again ? Yes, the game wasn't great. Everybody knows it. Build a bridge, and get over it.

Killallhostiles FTW ! Sorry to the console gamers :P

Lol! This sounds kind of bad, but I haven't been able to finish a single paythrough of DAO since DA2 came out. I just think about how much of a let down the second game was and I just don't want to play either game. Here's hoping DA3 redeems the franchise.

I honestly can't tell if these posts are serious or trolling. I don't understand, if you like DAO and remember it fondly, why does DA2 have anything to do with playing DAO again?

Not only did I play a full run of DAO (DAO, DAA, GoA, WH) before I played DA2 the first time, but I since having played DA2 while I was waiting for Legacy to be released I did another full run to pass the time. Really the only thing I found jarring was the non-voiced PC, but it was just a short adjustment to get used to again.

I loved DAO and DAII, and took a couple of passes, but how do you people have time for endless playthrus?

I have a pile of shame the size of a .... giraffe? So many games to play. (I fondly remember the 80s when there weren't enough games, so you literally played every one.)

I've played DA2 five times now and have currently put it aside to do an eighth run on DAO.

As for how I have time - for most of the first year after DAO came out, I was unemployed. These days, I seem to spend all my gaming time on Dragon Age. My pile of shame is ridiculous. If it was all in DVD cases instead of on Steam/Good Old Games it probably would be as tall as a giraffe. I own fifty-two games I haven't finished! (All but three of which I haven't even started. Once I start a game I do tend to complete it.)

Back to the topic ... I'm not sure why not liking DA2 should stop you enjoying the original game, especially since the protagonist doesn't carry over. Even then, I played the two core Baldur's Gate games a heck of a lot even though I usually couldn't be bothered with Throne of Bhaal.

Having enjoyed DA2, even with its flaws, I am currently nearing the end of another playthrough of Origins. Just finished the Landsmeet.

The gap between this playthrough and the last is just over a year and this current playthrough was started back in March this year, so its going slowly (there was a long break from it during the summer)

It both reminds me of the large differences and the similarities between the two.

Might as well enjoy Origins for the standalone experience it really is.

Spot on.

Yup, this might and should be the case. (but it's interesting if it isn't nontheless - from a psychological viewpoint :))

I still play plenty of DAO and I still have a hard time tearing myself away from the game when I am playing it. A single session of DAO can take up to several hours for me.
