Is it rational to want everybody happy? I'd consider that more along the lines of wishful thinking. If we consider Morinth a test run and you look at the lives Morinth has changed for the worst then it is logical to assume that releasing the Ardat Yakshi may not be such a good idea.

DUDE! It IS rational to want everyone to be happy! If not then YOU shouldn't have a problem with Morinth at all, because you think that she just wan't to be happy herself, and it's impossible for everybody to be happy. And how are we supposed to make a good living conditions if everybody thinks that it is irrational to have everybody happy???

Makes sense. Although not wanting others to be happy makes you either selfish, or just mean. Not necessarily irrational.

No it isn't. Comparing freedom to wanting to live is pretty messed up though.

There are just better ways to solve the AY problem if you are a rational person that wan't everybody to be happy.

I mostly agree, but you can't compare all Ardat-Yakshi with Morinth. I mean, take Hitler for example. He was an evil guy. However, that doesn't mean that all humans, or all Germans are evil. Comparing an individual to a group is the basis of racism.

I'm not comparing all Ardat-Yakshi to Morinth, just giving an example of why the Asari just don't let them go. I don't ever make assumptions of a whole group of people without any knowledge of them. For all I know the other Ardat-Yakshi could be the most caring and upstanding Asari in the galaxy.

I think that Morinth could be compared to Spartacus more than Hitler. Spartacus that would revolt completely alone.

I don't think that that Spartacus would last very long.Image IPB

But seriously, I was just saying that you shouldn't compare individuals to groups.

That was pretty much the best thing you could have said right there.

See, if Morinth would remain in seclusion, she would never meet Shepard. Shepard would never even meet Samara.

Nobody would know about AY other then some people in the asari community.
Morinth could help me do something about it. Shepard is a big enough bird to actually change something on a galactic scale.

Maybe. But, personally, I'd rather let those people Morinth killed live, and just never meet Samara.

But Asari as a whole realised that the Ardat-Yakshi need to live in seclusion. The other races would also realise that. Or deem them too big a threat to live, and just try to kill them. Probably wouldn't be a great idea to reveal it to the Galaxy.

There was a time when Asari mated only with other Asari. There was a time when they were primitive enough to not yet know other species. At that time their Ardat-Yakshi count would be more than 1% imo. They got through that time in one piece how? You think they put Ardat-Yakshi into seclusions always? You think that if Ardat-Yakshi weren't good enough to live amongs regular asari they wouldn't mind-kill off all the asari and die out since they are claimed to be sterile? I don't even know WHY asari made seclusions now.

I think that if the hero of the galaxy has a say, life for AY can be free. It's not so hard to keep track of AY in a modern society as any other person.

All pure speculation. We have no idea what the Asari were like pre-spaceflight.

Yes, but AY are often treated like they appeared only at spaceflight time, why would they?

They wouldn't. I have a question though. Why are Asari only able to breed with "people"? I mean, why not, say, Asari equivalent to dogs? It'd be weird, but still.

Because it wasn't really thought about, or they can. There are whole threads on asari breeding with people thinking bunch of plot holes. You don't actually even need a partner to randomize genetic material.

Also 2 AY breeding with each other for example, probably wasn't thought about.

I assume they'd both die. I mean, the meld with eachother, so they'd both die.

Anyway, to get back on topic, Samara is good, in contrast to Morinth.

To actually get back on topic, there's no way Samara is an Ardat-Yakshi.

Who knows, Morinth seems to have a strong nervous system, maybe she could survive another AY, as that AY could survive her.

I hope Samara won't back-stab you in ME3. ;)

And Samara is probably not an AY yes.

Doesn't really matter if she does, I've got like 15 files ready for import into ME3.Image IPB

Including ones with Morinth alive and kicking.

Cool! I can never make myself play something just to see what it does, always want to choose the same options that I like. But good old youtube is always there for me to see what other choices offer. Also sites with complete save files. I do like my main/own save though. ^_^
