I was in 8th grade when I gave it up. Whereever I would knock on the door of houses I would get the comment aren't you a little old to be trick or treating.
How old were you when you gave up trick or treating?

At a very young age. I think eight or nine? My parents weren't keen on letting us out into the neighborhood unsupervised at dark. We could only stray far supervised, and that wasn't often an option. That didn't stop me from going to parties and horror movie marathons in costume, of course.

Your parents didn't follow you trick or treating in a car?

We were usually followed on foot. We might have been followed in a car. I honestly can't remember. Either way, the trick or treating ended with the chaperoning when neither my parents or older siblings were available to do it.

Uhm, I was probably about 8 as well. And I've never looked back. Big reason why LARPing and cosplay always creep me out a little, maybe.

Late at the age of 13. The last thing I had worn was an executioner's outfit. Needless to say, I kind of freaked out the neighbors. Though my previous outfit was the classic wizard, which had less of the scare-the-crap-out-of-the-neighbors factor. The only costuming you can get away with at my age involves parties surrounded by "sexy kittens" and guys drunk out of their mind. I'm good, thanks.

My dad forced me to go trick or treating once. I was 14.
One of the most boring things I have ever done.

I think the last time I went trick or treating was around 8 years old.
The neighborhood I lived in wasn't even really into the spirit of it XP

Halloween didn't really gain foot over here (since we have different traditions for prank nights and costume parties) until I was past my mid-teens and trick or treat in particular has just become popular among kids a couple of years ago. Tricking isn't really an option, though. In short: I never went.

I believe the last time I trick or treated was 7th grade. Never had the motive to dress up since then.

25 I think. What can I say free candy is free candy. I was able to find a costume that covered my entire body and I never spoke because that was part of costume lol. If I had to say something i managed to sound younger somehow and I passed off as a tall teenager or something. I know someone I used to work with who still does it and when I ask him why he just says he doesn't believe your ever too old. I guess not but most people giving out candy find it creepy. Most see it as something for the kids.
makes no sense to me honestly because the kids shouldn't have the sweet tooth so early.

I was 13 when I stopped doing it. Got too old and I hated going out in the cold.

I've the sad story of never getting the chance to go trick or treating ever. I was invited to go one time but mom said that Halloween was not a good holiday. She thought it was evil or something because of religion. : /

I grew up on a ranch in the foot hills of the Blue Mountains of Oregon. We Never went trick or treating as the closest town of any size was about 50 miles away from us.
