Are you guys gonna post a list of FAQ's? Stuff like spell/feat changes, rules, what custom systems do you have, is this an action or an RP server, etc. It would help a lot. I didn't see any of that listed on your forums.

i guess at the end of the day the project will be community driven - if everyone wants the hardcore rp stuff then thats what will happen
the mods that have been place on the server runtime so far are the CEP , the higher levels mod , and using the map mod Rhun
i think next we need a random encounter script

Cool. But if server is a serious roleplay, then please leave out relationships. Man and woman are not ready for it in this day and age. Silly billies and their short lived marriages and divorces. Let's all break covenants.
Really? In your opinion, others RP is not acceptable? Who made you the server police for what is, and what is not?
To the OP, I suggest you send a PM to this group to help secure your server from the more, let say unworthy players out there. http://www.talesofthesilvermarches.com
Attent: DM Auctor
He should be willing to share the code and list of known trouble causers, their IP, CDkey, and log in info.
You should also note, that unless you have a group of players already "signed up" to play, that most servers, new, and even old, have a hard time getting new members. It may take a while for word to get around, that yours is good to try out. The best way to get new people is through details, what is in place that sets your server apart from others, what did you change from the base game, and what is your goal for the future.

ill hit him up for the list - but lets face it if i ban them all outright wheres the fun? there is nothing quite like weilding the ban hammer in some ones face
the list of current changes is above - the aim is to better test the server runtime and push on introducing new items , economy , any thing i can link to mysql would be great too, just stuff right now to make for a multi play style audience
id like some suggestions how we could make it unique from the other places

Making your server unique, well that is a long discussion. Some servers have unique crafting systems. Some have unique sub races. Some offer scripting work around for swimming, climbing, jumping. Others offer major DM interaction. Some offer unique settings. Many offer multiple things.
There are systems available on the vault, though they need to be customized for individual PWs. CNR, ATS, crafting do work, and many players are use to, and even require these systems to play on a PW.
PRC, adds subraces, though it is hard to get it to work, especially with other haks and systems.
There are other gems of code available, Sir Elrics trap respawn, and xp for disarm, NESS spawns system, As well as enough custom content from haks to make the entire game look different from the out of the box version.
Some of the more popular (being they have players, regular as well as new) Servers Uniqueness:
Ravenloft Prisoners of the Mist, Under Role Play: banks XP, as a player you never know how much you have, and you only level up after you have enough, and you rest. It also has the best RP automatic XP reward system I have ever come across.
Harry Potter, under Role play: had unique wand spells, Owl message system, Wizard card dueling, Chess, Homework crafting, and a functioning Quidditch game system. I say had, as it has been years since I have been there.
Tales of the Silver Marches under Role Play, has unique spells, summons, items, and more that I have yet to discover.
my own mod that I host for my sons, Has unique crafting, for armor, weapons and potions. It also has many alternate ways to get XP, research, Potion brewing, Black smithing, Animal training.
You are only limited by your own imagination. NWN can do just about anything you can think of, and as a bonus, there are nice folks on the scripting forum who are happy to help out.
Good Luck!

what you seem to be insinuating is i dont have enough free time to run 2 servers well i can assure you i do - im currently logged into both for example able to respond to issues wherever they arise
at the moment your looking at skeletal staff while we make sure it works - the guys that will DM will only **** if its not working perfect when i tell them to get logged in
i dont know quite why but you have really got my goat with that one - thats like saying you should only play one musical instrument if you want to achieve perfection

Just keep doing what you're doing, blunty. Keep testing and working out the bugs when you find them, and leave the "nerf bat" in the closet where it belongs. If you do that, people will come and play on your server. I've talked to a lot of players the last couple of years that are tired of playing on servers that have been nerfed, hak'd, and scripted to death.

You don't have a forum about the actual NWN server (or preferably homepage).

the forum is multi use if you read the catorgorys there is one called "neverwinter" which may sound familiar , work with me here a bit people , are you all so focused on one game that i have to partition up my forum?
we are a social group that likes to play some hardcore gaming - people are welcome to join our group and play on any of the servers i run (there is a doom2 and a fear server too)

Not everyone who plays NWN online needs constant DM attention to enjoy the game. It's fun when it happens, but it isn't required. There are player run plot lines on some of the PW's where I play that are as good or better than most of the DM run plot lines I've seen.

Very Valid, all of it.
However, it has been my observation, that lack of Admin interaction, can lead to an exodus of players. Sure you do not have to have any DM events at all. However, you had better be prepared for player requests, and player demands, whether those are good or bad. Players do make them. While some may not like the nerf bat, other do flock to the nerf batted servers. Ravenloft PotM is very popular, and has had extencive nerf bat hits. Haks, that is a arguement that has been going on since day 2, and you will find a few hold outs that do not like haks. Scripting, well I have played on poorly scripted servers, I choose not to, as it gets to frustrating after a while. You will find that very few will continue on a poorly scripted server. That does not translate to they won't put up with bugs. If the base mod is good, Players will stick around even if bugs show their ugly head, but if bugs are present, and fixes, follow a lack of admin presence, players will move on.

on the plus side of NWN servers - development is now very slow compared to that of minecraft - im not going to have to revise the server build every few days , making it much more of a fun project to work on

Try copying and pasting this into the direct connect field on gamespy, or if you know how, use it as the IP address in a direct connect shortcut.

Server forum is here: http://www.bnbserver...wforum.php?f=14
The direct connect address is: bnbserver.co.uk:5121
The module is based on Rhun, and it's set up as an action server. There's still a lot of building and testing going on, but if you'd like to roll up a character and check it out, I'm sure Blunty would appreciate any feedback you may have.
