I find Batarians to be one of the most interesting species in the Mass Effect universe. I find them fascinating culturally and visually.

I noticed though that generally most peope don't like them and find them, for the most part, unappealing to look at. Anyways I was wondering what is your general feelings towards them.

I do not care for their eyes. Too many. Plus, I figure when Shepard took out the few thousand Batarians, hopefully she got Balak.

Personally, I get the feeling Batarians are always causing problems with other races, not just Humans. If it were restricted solely to humans, then even then people might not be too put off by it.

But for the Batarians; "slavery is an inextricable part of their caste system", and as most of these are humans, that's enough for most people not to like them. They pretty much said 'F you' to the council and every other species when they closed their embassy (do not recall why).

There are some specific batarians I like in the game, and I wouldn't even mind one as a squad mate, so long as he (or she? Sexy batarian female for squad mate please) was a total badass (which I'm sure he would be). I'm just not very fond of the species as a whole.

Most people will say they hate them since the games are pretty much designed to make you want to hate them. Me though, I like them and would even like a Batarian squaddie who could give us better insight into their culture.

I killed Balak (I mean, the guys quite a danger to have running about), but I let his toadie live (hopefully he'll come back in Mass Effect 3). I try to help all the Batarians I can on Omega.

I'm indifferent to them. As I am to most baddies who wander into my scope.
Remember, it takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for a proper trigger squeeze!

I hate their government, their slavery, not the race. Take Charn on BDtS. Even colonist Shep was about to let him go once he said that he didn't sign on for slamming an asteroid into a planet, that then Balak started killing people.... UNTIL he mentioned that it was supposed to be a snatch and grab mission to get a few slaves. It's not smart to say that to the "Butcher of Torfan."

I think they are the most human-like of all of the other races, aside from their physical appearance, and that is what makes them hated.

After getting accidentally food poisoned by some poor Batarian bartender, I tried to tell him his drinks were contaminated and a danger to everyone, before he could graciously comply some nutjob turian flew off the handle and killed him. ... I haven't helped many Batarians since then.

Joking aside, if the Batarians do appear in any large capcity in ME3 I look forward to all the rightous fury they'll be sending my way. (doubly so if I get my Batarian Squaddie)

I like them. They're genuine under-dogs and their relative weakness vs the rest of the galaxy is more realistic than humanity's amazing strength.

Dislike them even more that they've been reaped and made somehow uglier.

I'll nickname ever Cannibal I find "Lumpy".

Well I kill the Bartender who poisoned me by making him drink his own poison. Of course if someone poses a threat I take care of that threat. Generally though most of the Batarians you run across that are waving a gun in your face are quite kind and nice to you, one even willing to give you a discount on items with the right choice of words.

Maybe Bioware will have a Batarian as DLC for the Galaxy at War missions. I'd love that!

I cannot tell the Batarians from the animals. I am not racist. Some of my best friends are Batarians.

I like all species mainly The Asari and Turians I like the most, others too. Humans are Interesting I though in a SciFi game dont like playing human because it's boring. I like the Alliance and everything, I hate stupid Cerberous it like they only want Humans in the galaxy, they are working with The Reapers. *Spoilers.* That too why I don't like humans, Bartarians are better. They have every right to not like Humans, just like Humans don't like them. It's too that Humans are still new too the Galaxy.

The Bartarians are bullying the Humans the newer. The Bartarians are even more mad, angry from events that are happening sense Human arrival. I won't be surprise with other species The Humans too originally entered there territory which is why. Oh people this is SciFi if you just want humans play a Human game, stop hating on other species because you don't like them. It's childish, please read the Codex and History also thank you.

At least I definitely do.

And trust me, that's not for physical appearance - alien-looking aliens are better than blue space babes anyway. But their easy acceptance of slavery and mass destruction is real problem.

The Human/Batarian proxy war always makes me think of USA/USSR during the cold war. They just hate each other but neither wants to risk open war with the other.

I find batarians fascinating. Colonist Shepard could have some epic conversations if we had a batarian ally or squadmate, and I strongly support the squadmate idea.

I don't mind the Batarians. At first I wasn't very liking to them, considering the first and only time we saw then in the beginning was when they were hijacking an asteroid to kill a human colony. Come the sequel, I warmed up to them more. Despite a majority still being rather racist and going on about how they were always wronged, I liked one or two that actually treated me better, namely that one Batarian during Mordin's recruit mission where if you save his life, he humbles himself and admits his racism was misplaced. If I see him again in ME3, it'll be awesome.

Well, except for that part where we killed over 300'000 Batarians. Honestly, at that point, I was really depressed that I killed so many, even if they were Batarians. Just damn.

Lets see 90% of them hate us, want to enslave us, or are just fine seeing and having to deal with human slaves throughout their daily lives. Being that Batarian space is the N. Korea of the galaxy but who enjoys raiding colonies and making people they deem less then themselves to be their slaves I can't say I feel sorry or pity for any of them.

I dislike the batarians who cause me trouble or try to kill me and any I feel are decent I will act in kind but overall if the batarians end up being the bad guys they're constantly portraying themselves as I won't shed any tears over killing them and raiding their bases.
