Obviously the Reapers are the greatest threat to every other species out there...but who's next in line as great threats to every other species and why?

Edit: A threat to all other species, not just humanity.

Volus.

As to why:

Volus will manipulate the financial market and cause a galaxy-wide depression so bad that the governments cannot afford to exist and collapse. They be unable to support their militaries and infastructre.. and the anarchy on the citadel will make Omega look pretty preaceful.

I'd say the Batarians, but it seems that they're going to be the Reapers' first victims.

The geth, if Legion's descriptions of their rate of technological advancement are accurate.

Pfft when the pyjak hordes overrun your defence turrets and steal your food you shall see who is a greater threat.

I can't make up my mind. I would say either the Salarians, Turians, Humans or Geth pose the greatest threat.

Those Krogans. Even with the genophage those 4 balls will smack you across the room.

[Makes you think of Krogan balls] (And probably hope for a reply showing your reaction) (I hope you don't seriously reply because that was really reverse psychology)

But really the Yahg would tear us up probably.

Humanity.

Why? Because of our delusions of grandeur.

Yahg, smart, great perceptiveness and they're brutal with more strength than a Krogan.

Krogans if they're repeating their past mistakes.

The geth are isolationists and most of them have better things to do than to bother organics.

Batarians. At least for Shepard, for if (s)he ever enters their home space, (s)he will be killed on sight.

For the Galaxy, the Krogan. Especially if Wrex fails in his plan.

Asari:
1.) Encouraged to breed with those outside their own species...pure blood stigma.
2.) Attractive to all other species.
3.) Long life span...how many partners would one Asari have in a life time?
4.) Seem to already have the most substantial population...most of which look outside their species for partners.
5.) Breeding with Asari can only produce Asari.
Taking these points into account, I'm thinking they may eventually out breed every other species out there.

Krogan:
If cured of Genophage...even if Wrex can keep them under control, he is not going to live forever and neither will his views.

Geth:
The Heretics have turned on all other species once....who's to say, especially with their views/etc... intergrated into Geth logic, that it won't happen again.

Well lets see I would say the Batarians after all this but really what is going to pose a more threat is not one species by it self. Its a safe bet that all the major powers in the galaxy are going to be a complete mess so - If anything Mercenaries and crime is going to take over- imaging Mad Max of Fist of the North Star on a Galactic scale(minus the punch induced body explosions)

The geth because they are unpredictable, powerful, and unfriendly.

Also, Golden Owl is right about the asari. However in more military terms it is the geth. The turians could also be a threat, or factions of them. If humanity continues to gain strength the volus may wish to separate from the turians and that might throw their society into chaos. Turian unity is fragile I suspect and it might not take much to set off internal strife as the colonies battle for independence once again.

This.

The total apathy with which they regard all organic life, it's not hard to imagine that they could reach a new consensus about anything and just go on a killing spree.

Not really an issue with cloning and genetic engineering/ modifications.

It's a huge issue. It is social imperialism.

What Saphra says....plus in regards to cloning, it's already well known a copy is always a weaker version of the original and I can't see how that would change, it makes perfect sense...so I would think cloning and it's related methods would not adequately address the problem.
