It's not an urge.  "Urge" is too tame a term.  "Urge" implies I actually want to do it.

No.  I must do it, and I cannot control it.

ALL THE TAGS.  ALL THE MEDALIONS.

That's what I'm telling myself about the minerals, but with the prospect of an amazing bonus in ME3 for collecting all of them. Not like in ME2 where the bonus for getting all them minerals in ME1 was barely 5,000 WTF?! For the time necessary to spend on it the bonus should've been AT LEAST 50,000! :pinched: Especially considering how tedious mineral scanning is in ME2 :pinched:

I was done with ME1 a long time ago, but I actually started re-playing ME2 now, just to make sure I have everything perfect for import to ME3.
Once I'm done with that, Skyrim should be out and I'm hoping that will satisfy me until ME3 is released.

I've notice two things so far:

1. Most of you will have at least a good and bad Shepard
2. This game has a HUGE replay value, I'm guessing it's in the top 10 games with best replay value. (Don't make me do the list)

I'm going to try a full run plus all DLC with one Renegade Female Shepard and one Paragon Male Shepard and if I have time a flip of the first two only with a fast run through. For the paragon male Shepard I'm going to put him at level 60 in ME1.

The graphic of ME1 is not that great; based on today's standard; , but I like the storyline most. ME2 doesn't allow player to explore the ME universe throughly, the way ME1 does.
I started different scenarios in ME1, but I haven't saved the council at all, however I select the new members of council to be all human most of the time; sorry I don't trust aliens; and off course to be led by Udina most of the time.

Not just starting over ME1. I will read all comics and books and play all games in chronological order.
This will require doing things like starting to read"ME: Revelation", then skipping to "ME: Evolution" and then returning to "Revelation"

Is one of those a prelude to Mass Effect 1?

Oh yeah. I figure it will help me get through the final month of waiting. I'll attempt to complete the games as much as I can, too. It's why I've been holding off replaying it until then, it always makes it more fun remembering all the little things I forgot.

I forgot that I didn't get Pinnacle Station, is there anything in that DLC that might carry over into ME2 or ME3?

I wasn't going to, but then I accidentally deleted my ME2 canon file and decided to just restart with her in ME1 for the fun of it. While I was at it I ended up making two new Shepards that I want to bring through both games in time for ME3 also.

As the title says, Are you going to start another game from the start at Mass Effect 1 before playing Mass Effect 3 to get huge epic experience?

For me personally, I'm going to start playing Mass Effect 1 around February and hopefully by Mass Effect 3 release I should have done Mass Effect 1&2 plus DLC in time.

I know it seem crazy, but who cares :P

Already done, twice.

I've finished full playthroughs of 2 of the 4 that I want to finish. I'm saving my last until January. That's going to be my replay of my canon Shep, so that she'll be fresh in my mind as I go in to ME3.

Pinnacle Station, for all intents and purposes, is an arena. There is literally nothing more to it. The only remotely interesting thing about it is the reward you get for completing it which is a nice little apartment. I deliberately skipped playing this DLC on my canon playthrough's.

I started yesterday, a FemShep with a secret love for Joker. I'm still discovering side missions in ME1, yeah... I'm really that stupid. :innocent:

TBH ever since I bought Genesis I've not bothered with ME1. I just use the comic to make the ME1 decisions (in the hope that one day they'll actually mean something) and then play through ME2.

Using that method I did, during a recent bout of ME3 optimism, replay ME2 to get my main Shepard "just right" for ME3.

In theory I'd like to make a "bad" (i.e. Renegade/Renegon) Shepard, but in practice I've found it requires choosing such ridiculous dialogue options that I lose interest. The best I've been able to manage is a Paragade.

Thinking about tackling insanity and going for the level 60 achievements in ME1 with my canon Shepard just to be a completionist but it's hard to get the urge to put up with ME1's combat system again..

Starting a new ME1 playthrough?
That is not the tenth of it. I have a pretty definite plan for the 6 weeks leading up to the ME3 release.
My last playthrough of ME1/2 was in February. Haven't touhed it since in order to get a bit of a "fresh" experience. I have pretty much layed out every decision for my "cannon" Shep (a paragade infiltrator) but I have never played the game with all the choices the way I really want them so it's gonna be a first.
End of January I'll start:
1. Reread Evolution (awful comic IMO but still, it has to be reread)
2. Reread Revelation (maybe hear the audiobook instead)
3. Replay ME1
4. Reread Ascension (maybe hear the audiobook instead)
5. Replay ME:Galaxy
6. Reread Incursion
7. Replay ME2 up to the point where you meet Liara on Illium
8. Reread Redemption (as sort of a flashback for Liara)
9. Replay the rest of ME2
10. Reread Retribution (maybe hear the audiobook instead)
11. Reread Inquisition, Invasion and Conviction
12. Read Deception (may change, not sure about how it fits into the timeline yet)
13. it is March 6th -> play ME3!!!

Hope I didn't forget anything and I hope I'll get the timing just right :).

I have done only soldier playthroughs of ME1 and have done playthroughs with 4 classes in ME2 (engineer and adept not used yet). When Feb 2012 comes, I will probably do an engineer playthrough by importing one of my ME1 soldiers. No interest in adept though, and no intention of going back to ME1 so far.

I will be going the distance lol. I always play ME1 and 2 together; I consider it "Mass Effect", not "ME1, 2, and 3".

ME1 playthrough- Lvl 59 New Game+ Infiltrator; Hardcore for the first time

ME2 playthrough- Above game carry-over, Infiltrator; Insanity for the first time; playing Overlord, LotSB, and Arrival for the first time

Then ME3 on Insanity.

Here is the kicker; I have not played Mass Effect in a little over a year and I've never played any of the games above Casual XD
