It's amazing what people (i.e. men) will "look past" when presented with awesome ******&ass.

I've "spent moments" with Miranda. Her character develops from Evil Psycho B!tch to Evil Psycho B!tch with a sister.

Not at all, if you listen to her you realize she's rather insecure. I didn't find the T&A "awesome" by any stretch, but I like her character. Probably the only character in ME that I like.

Oh, she's insecure alright. But I don't see how that makes her any less Evil, any less Psycho, or any less of a B!tch. I did find her T&A pretty awesome though.

I didn't find her any of those. But that's difference of opinion for you I guess.

Oh come on, I'm seriously interested in seeing you justify Miranda. She does show a human side when it comes to her sister, I'll grant you that, but having a heart doesn't make someone less evil. I'm sure even Hitler was nice to someone, some of the time, while he wasn't busy mass murdering Jews.

Looks like I chose a good time to lurk, INTERNET FIGHT ENGAGE.

Fight!? This is me making friendly chit chat!

come to think of it wasn't Jacob's suit skin tight ?
i never heard any complaints

Oh, I have certainly whinged about that....displaying his junk is not very inspiring...men look manly in other ways....his attire does not look manly, it looks ridiculous.

I never thought to complain about Jacob's outfit, but now that you mention it is just as inappropriate as Miranda's attire.

It's clear they intended Jacob to be the male equivalent of Miranda for the female audience.

Jacob and Miranda totally need to wear some better clothes.

Jack I was OK with in the sense that it could be explained that she has biotic barriers. But, I do hope the character growth we're likely to see out of her also entails wearing a shirt.

In general, I want a proper dress code on the ship this time around.

I thought Garrus and Thane were hits with the girls? I guess Jacob was an attempt to cover some bases.

I don't get why people think Miranda's outfit fits her character. She says she uses her looks to her advantage, but how does her catsuit benefit the suicide mission? It's not like she's going to seduce the collector general. There is no justification for wearing that outfit, it totally clashes with her character and mission-first-mentality.

I like Miranda, but that outfit has to change to something sensible.

This.

I mean, come on folks. As a shipboard officer's uniform, the catsuit defines Miranda. As a combat suit, it takes a crap on her otherwise professional, no-nonsense personality.
And the ONLY, the ONLY F***ING REASON that she wears it into combat is because the devs, in all their wisdom, thought that limiting each squadmate to ONE iconic look, and sticking them with that one look both in combat and in casual situations, would be a good idea... I mean, what's the point? If it just doesn't make sense in so many of the cutscenes, why do it? For the iconic look... for what reason? I dunno... but it's iconic! (****** trying to defend it).

Tip: You CAN design a character with an iconic look, while still giving him/her appropriate appearances for different scenes. If a character dons a disguise, you wouldn't expect the "disguise" to be the same as their iconic outfit, would you? Nope, because it wouldn't make effing sense. Appearances should suit the situation. Would it make sense for Shepard to go out on a combat mission wearing his officer's coat? Nope. So how does it make sense that his squadmates, who are supposed to be high-value members of his crew, are going out in their casuals?

I think Thane was focus-tested for his sexiness with Bioware's lady employees. Garrus was an anomaly. Jacob... they just made a lot of assumptions with Jacob.

Interesting. Thane walks like he's got really bad hemorrhoids. Strange that women find that sexy.

If Jacob was a better handled character and femshep didn't sound like a cat in heat then MAYBE he would have been a hit with the female audience. He is after all one of the best looking male characters along with Kaidan,Sheploo and.... TIM.

The entire romance wasn't handled well either. It was more of a hook-up than anything else. Same w/ Miranda's romance, in the sense that that too was a hook-up.

Garrus works...his gritty, tough, bad ass but with a soft gooey side to him...Tall, very masculine and that voice...it works.

Thane...I like Thane, but don't find him particulary sexy...just interesting.

As for Jacob, I have to disagree Seboist...I don't have a femShep, but Jacob still leaves me just cold...in both his expression and looks he is very dour....that's not sexy or helpful appearence wise.

That's why I consider the Kellymance to be the best one. It doesn't pretend to be anything more than what it is.

Yeah... and the irony is that Jacob was probably Bioware's answer to complaints about Kaidan.

For the guys, he was practically the default bro for maleShep.
For the girls, he was practically Prince Charming. Or a male escort. I still can't believe the dialogue they wrote and recorded for femShep's convos with him... I mean, I was embarassed for Jen Hale, it was that bad.

Since you don't see what happens afterwards, I suppose that is a possibility.  Odd that Miri would mention finding love on the mission beforehand though.

To which Shep replies, "Love? Who said anything about love? I'm just trying to get you into bed." Even the romance scene which inexplicably took place in the engineering bay made it seem all the more like a hook-up.

Some people like to comment about how she did it to spite Tali but there isn't a reason why she would want to do so. It would make senseShepard and Miranada didn't have sex on Jack's cot considering Miranda's dislike of Jack and she just did that to spite her. I get the feeling that the devs might of though of doing that but thought that doing so would make Miranda look like a monumentally petty person.

There seems to be some kind of weird exhibitionist subtext with the Miranda romance scene since most of the ship can view the engine room...

In that case, why does Kasumi comment on it?

Kasumi: Really Shepard, in the Engine Room... right there where Tali works?

Then there's Miranda's dating site chat files in LotSB.

I think "monumentally petty" is probably what BW were going for.

I think that she was trying to say to the crew "I'm in charge. I have the great Commander Shepard under my command. You obey me, as he does, you obey Cerberus"

Well, after all she's "The Loyalist"

That's exactly what I expect out of an insecure person.  You may as well have the declaration printed across your forehead after that.  Everyone on the ship would talk about it and not in a good way.

Crew mate 1: DId you hear aboud Shepard and Miranda in the engine room?
Crew mate 2: Yeah.  I hope they scrubbed the floors.
Everyone within earshot: Ha ha ha!!

Talk about weakening your position for nothing.
