Got a hold of DAO for PC after enjoying the Xbox version.
Having fun but each fight seems more difficult. I've been enjoying the challenge, but defending Redcliffe was hell. Everyone bar Leliana and Alistair died, plus my mage warden and Morrigan got knocked out.
The first part of the battle was easy, despite Leliana and Alistair's desire to fight whilst on fire, but when we joined the 'real' battle it just seemed to never end. We were doing okay until the stamina got low. I had lyrium potions, but it was literaly back to zero after one spell, and I was getting swarmed all at the same time.
Luckily my warden and Morrigan fell with around 7 enemies to go, and I managed to let Alistair act as a meat sheild whilst Leliana backstabbed.
I'm playing on the easiest difficulty and I'm worried that the next significant battle is going to be too hard for me right now.
Any tips, please?

Try setting the tactics so that Leliana and Alistair watch out for each other. In other words, enemy attacking Leliana causes Alistair to shield bash that enemy. Alistair attacking an enemy causes Leliana to attack the same enemy.
Set Morrigan to fight ranged and use her spells on the enemies that the melee fighters have engaged. Ditto for the Warden mage.
That said, I find the team made up of two mages plus an archer rogue plus a tank a bit imbalanced. If I had two mages I would probably have one doing healing spells and very little fighting (thus not attacting enemies), and the other mage casting damaging spells (and thus being a target of enemies).
Leliana can be built into a pretty strong melee rogue, but she probably does better ranged as an archer. Trouble is, in your team if you switch her to archer it leaves Alistair doing melee all by himself. I probably would have used Sten (recruited back at Lothering) instead of Leliana in the Redcliffe battle.
This is just my style of play, however. It can be done other ways with just as good results.

Yes, Leliana is great late-game, but often weak for the first level or two she's available. Sten is a powerful, if fragile, option. Dog (strength-focussed) is also a possibilty - he generally doesn't start sucking too much until the second half of the game.
Pile on the dex for Alistar, cunn for Lel and magic for you and Morrigan. Also make sure you upgrade your equipment constantly.
Grab Heal for Morrigan too - it's an amazing little spell that really is a must for every mage. Also remember talent's/spells get better further along a talent/spell tree, so it's better to pick four spells from a single line (Lightning, Shock, Tempest, Chain Lightning) than it is to have four level-1 spells (Lightning, Winter's Grasp, Rock Armour, Flame Blast). As a rule of thumb, choose a few spell/talent trees and build them.
Have someone learn the Herbalism skill to create health poultices and lyrium potions so you don't have to rely on the ones you find/buy. I'd have a companion learn this rather than you, as you generally have more important skills to build - like coercion and combat training.
You could also nip straight to the circle tower just for the stat bonuses from the Fade...

try to focus on your magic stats.it seems abit on the low side. don't pump unecessary cunning on your warden as the fade will provide 5 points of it. same for dex as well unless you are going for arcane warrior.
focus on the ice and lightning tree and also the mana tree for storm of the century combo at later stage. the death tree, go till death syphon should be sufficient unless you want virulent walking bomb. you might want to consider the first 3 spells of glyph and also stonefist for shatter. from here on, it depends on your specs and style of play you want.

Why are you using Leliana as a melee when you've built her as an archer? Granted, her bow damage is quite feeble at first. Better to have made her into a dual-wielder. For your PC, where are your crowd-control spells? No fireball. No cone of cold. You might also consider getting Glyphs - paralysis or repulsion; these two do wonders in combination.
Also, Flaming Weapons will work for everyone - including the townsfolk who are fighting in the battle. I don't think Ice weapons affect undead.

In addition to the comments above, I will note that I found defending Redcliffe to be one of the toughest fights in the game in my first playthrough. Personally, I'd rather play Dog or Sten (or the dual wielding rogue you don't have yet) than Leli in a two-mage party, particularly at low levels where archery's not very effective. I'd also recommend trying to pick up cone of cold and force field soon for one of your mages.

Yes, this was one of the more challenging battles for me as well. I'm playing on Normal. None of my people died, but we were exhausted at the end. Like you said, the monsters just kept comin'. I did this early in the game, and I did not have Cone of Cold or any other crowd control spell that worked against undead.
I also had Tactics on at that time. I do not use Tactics anymore. I find them a poor substitute for micro-management.
So, in order to keep from getting rolled, I would micro-manage, carry at least a dozen health potions at all times, go to the Circle of Mages and get Wynne in your party as soon as possible. She will increase your party's chances of survival. Get Morrigan Cone of Cold ASAP. It is very powerful and can freeze multiple monsters solid for many seconds.
Hard battles coming up include fighting Revenants. They are tough suckers.
Good luck.

Pause the game, issue the orders, unpause and see results, pause again...
Shouldn't be necessary in easy (never played the game i neasy though) but it is what works for me all the time in DA:O...and 2...and NWN...and BG...and...

hmmm... another way, do the dlc for a few lvl gain and some denerim sidequest. this will give you better skills, equipments and stats, followed by redcliff. this will make the fight easier. redcliff battle is all about crowd control. nuke is not the best option. cone of cold, mind blast, glyph all work wonders here. i tend to start my main quest after i am done with most of the doable sidequest at my stage before proceeding. this help in getting some precious spells and talents as well as stats for the main quest. i have played on easy on most occasion and you shouldnt be having so much problem. i think it is the choice of your spells that is affecting you. go with survival and crowd control spells early game and get the attack spells later. you need to be alive to dish out damage.
from what i see, your willpower should be sufficient at this point at easy level. try to put on equipment that boost or regen your mana. it will help in long battle.
tactics wise, alway put
npc health <50% use strongest health poultice/heal
this will ensure you survive even when your heal is on regen or you are out of mana..
