For the love of God, get Shale in your party! Do it now and never let her go! She has some of the best party banter I've heard in the whole game. Doesn't matter who she's with, her banter's always worth the slot on your team alone. And of course it helps that she's a pretty ace fighter too.
Some very interesting banter also occurs between Zevran and Sten, Wynne and Alistair, and the banter between Morrigan and Alistair is fairly legendary, though I don't seem to have them in the same team a lot. (As an aside, the best exchange in the whole game happens between Zevran and Loghain, should you get him. But sounds like you won't though... *sad face* )
As a best-party-run, I really enjoyed my all-warrior runthrough. A bit late for you now, but I guess I'm saying, don't be afraid to ditch the mages if you feel like it. You'll be absolutely fine with three huge warriors behind you (especially if one has built up the Templar spec).
Which class plus companion team gave you the most interesting/fun playthrough?

Probably the third play through I had of the game, when I learned how to exploit the adore jealousy dialogue and gets all the ladies. I had this elven arcane warrior and I just dumped magic into him, and equipped the ancient elven gear. it wasn't very good but it made me feel awesome. I used leliana, morri and wynn as my tank that play through. (AW/SH) I think thats when I figured out double haste is really cheap. THats also when I started to download mods.
Umm... these are the choices
Side with the mages.
Save connor, but made a deal with the demon so she gives me the tome of technique.
Side with the werewolves. KILL ALL THE ELVES. I just love killing camen.
Poured blood on the ashes without leliana or wynn in the party. Evil Hardened leli hardly objected.
Sided with branka, kept the anvil, sided with harrowmont.
Killed lohgain, married anora and alistair, took morrigan's dark contract.

Four Warriors is Fun.
3 Rogues and Morrigan as Shapeshifter is great.
3 Mages and Shale.

Whenever I would start a new game, I would always choose what "type" of warden it would be during character creation. By type I mean good, kinda good, alright, slightly evil, and just downright sadistic. For my good characters I usual saved the mages, got Zathrian to end the curse for god (elves), anvil destroyed and Bhelen on the throne (i did not like it when he killed Harrowmont, but whats done is done) saved both Conner and Isolde preserved and told about ashes (didn't want to kill the brother) sometimes decline or accept Morrigan's offer (one file warden queen married to Alistair needed to make deal so they could rule) on my evil play through i usually did the exact opposite of all that (slightly less evil just killed Isolde) usually did the ritual. The one thing I am conflicted about is Alistair. I'm on my super evil play through right now and I wanted to, um, make him go away (if you catch my drift) but I'm afraid if I do that it will hinder a lot of choices in DA2. Do you guys think its worth it or not? My favorite party banters were definently Alistair in love with warden "Leliana, your a woman right?" "Last time I checked..." 3 mages was a pretty intresting playthrogh easy but challeneging at the same time cause you were so powerful, but if you weren't carful you could get destroyed.

I can't think of any reason why you shouldn't give Alistair his... umm, marching orders.
Alistair has three possible cameos in DA2 - one as a king, one as a Grey Warden, and one if you made Loghain a Grey Warden and he stormed off. But apart from that Alistair's fate doesn't really impact DA2 at all.

Oh, thanks! Even though it doesn't make that big of a difference, I think I'll just let him walk away so I can see what happens to him in DA2.

I thought that your character can be transfered over reguardless if your dead or not.greengoron89 wrote...
- Allow Loghain to deal the final blow to the Archdemon. Not only does it allow him to redeem his actions (my Warden is man of mercy and redemption, having slain his own brother wrongly), but it ensures your Warden survives so you can do Awakening.
