Just wondering something.

Can you force the player to take an NPC line in a cutscene by forcing th PC tag to the speaker on the npc node. You woud there for have control over the camera on that node.

Why don't I just try it you say. Well I would but I don't understand what the game would see as the pcs tag for this action.

Is it $PC?

You can copy the PC, and then use the NPC version of the PC to speak the line.

Okay, not sure how to do that.

My particular problem is that the pc is going to fire a large trigger staring a convo with an Ipoint. The first line I would like to be a close up of the PC but being a large trigger I don't know where to put the camera. At the moment I am using a long shot and since the pc turns to face the I point it's not to bad.

How might I spawn a copy in the short term to achieve this?

Thanks for the response LofRS,

PJ

The first, NPC node can always be short, instantaneous. You could also jump the PC to a predetermined waypoint, at which you can properly aim your camera. Alternatively, you could spawn an i-point at the PC's location (maybe at head-height), and use that for the NPC node.

As to duplicating the PC, I think the function is CopyObject. Then you have to change the duplicate's faction to something neutral.

I like the jump idea. It would be instant in the same area.

With a little stage craft I could have them walk into the camera shot.

Thanks LotRS these ideas have got me moving again.
