Powerful items won't allow you to play your character

Hi everybody, I played online with a warrior dwarf, it is still a 1st lvl character. Don't remember the name of the server but simply it was one which made you play thru the OC again. With my 1st level dwarf was following another guy which played a powerful monk. This guy gave me a shield and I don't remember that item's name. I saved the character, it was a server which didn't go online too often so I tried to play my saved dwarf thru the OC again (not on the server but in the single player campaign) but much to my dismay I simply wasn't allowed to play it since NWN stated I had a too powerful item and could not play through.

Is there a way by which I can play getting rid of those limitations?

in your nwnplayer ini file, open it with notepad.
there is a line, under game options,
Single Player ItemLevelRestrictions=0
make sure it is set to 0
save the file,
play the game.

I'd find a way to include this greatest trick of all in my (signature) "tips" list.
About I just add a link to that very thread...

The one I changed its title because of you, some time ago.

I'm not crazy with the way I "titled" it myself for an easy understanding, so if you have any better idea, always welcome.
That goes for anyone actually...
