Am I the only one who feels that we haven't really been given enough information about the new and reappearing characters in ME3?

There was a long period with little to no information at all, and now pretty much all of the ME3 news is about the new multiplayer feature.

So far all we know is that we are getting Vega as a new character, and that he's a soldier. There was also that short comic about him, but that's about it. We haven't even had this "Massive reveal" about his voice actor yet.

Is he the only new character we will be seeing in Mass Effect 3? What about the "More romantic options in ME3"? I know that it's not a recruit-a-team game in the same way as Mass Effect 2, that the Dev's are trying to avoid spoilers, but the thing I love the most about the Mass Effect series are the characters, and with no information about new characters other than Vega, and very little information about the few squadmates who are confirmed to return, I'm close to losing interest.

There's how many months left? Don't worry, there will be information, just gotta have some patience. I wouldn't mind a tease or two of Jack's new hair, but can I wait, yes. Plus, I'd rather get that "shock" moment in game and not spoil anything for myself.

The information is probably going to be unpleasant for many fans. It's been pretty much confirmed that all romanace-able character are NOT returning as part of Shepard team. Bioware probably wants to wait a bit before they cause a massive ****storm among their fans.

Waiting hasn't worked in their favour, look at the MP news, lol.

Some character info might be spoilers, like Miranda and Jacob role in the game(if they are with or against Cerberus). I still want to hear something about Grunt and Jack. I want to see the new armor for Grunt and Jack's hair (I'm expecting a dyed color, like pink or green).

There still is some time before the game release, so don't be to worried. The only thing that I don't like is that they only have confirmed thing forthe ME1 characters, and we have almost nothing from the ones from ME2.

This. Better get the bad news out quick so people have time to rage for few weeks and then move on.

They probably won't say anything at all. *cough* DA2 re-used maps*

Multiplayer is one thing, but romances? This is serious business. This is "canceling my pre-order" serious. This is "boycott Bioware" serious.

Feels good to be a Liara fan.

The whole we can't say anything regarding certain characters because it spoils the story excuse is completely lame, with all the info they release about certain events and scenarios in me3, how is saying Miranda will be a fulltime squadmember providing she's alive in your playthrought spoil us anymore than we've already been.

Seriously, cerberus fighting against us, the krogan princess, even the spoilers concerning Aria and Omega in the new comics spoil much more than a simple confirmation one way or the other regarding squadmates.

I've said this before but it smacks to me of exactly the same things they did regarding, Wrex, Ashley and Kaiden when me2 was being released, rather than give out bad news they continually go with the can't spoil the story excuse.

Seeing them do the same thing again leaves me pretty sure it'll be the same outcome, me2 specific characters are being relegated to a smaller role just as certain me1 characters were in me2, but rather than be upfront about it, they'll wait much closer to release.

Oh lawdy.

Some people are really serious about cancelling their pre-order if they don't think their favourite character is getting a good role.  The thing too, IMO, the character's really make the story so compelling.  So for me, I wouldn't cancel my pre-order for such a thing, but would I be upset if my LI was only getting a cameo appearance, very much.  I have good faith in Bioware, but they have a lot of feedback to take in, especially including so many well done characters.

Because showing something before it's ready is the way to market it.

I may well be one of the disappointed fans so if they have bad news for me, I would also preffer to learn about it earlier than on the release date.

I'm mostly tired of seeing Liara and Garrus. And I'm a fan of both. The way I see it, if they aren't showing anything new besides Liara and Garrus being squadmates, then what they're showing is useless to me.

They haven't flat-out said so but it was heavily hinted at. BioWare has said mutiple times that there isn't going to be as many squadmates as in ME2 (12). They want a smaller team to work with this time around, and seeing as how there are 9 romance-able characters, I don't think there going to be room for everyone on the board.

MP was probably confirmed for a while in the production, but they decided to release the confirmation of it too late IMO.  If they decided to say something like this a few months ago  "Yes, we do plan to have a MP, but we can't talk about the details right now because we're still finalizing what we want it to be", then I believe it would of been better for them, but that's just my opinion on the subject.

They also said to dismiss any notions of what "permanent squadmate" meant, so it's entirely possible that the entirety of the cast is going to be in a revolving door state, with only a couple people in the team as game long fixtures.

I'd bet there's probably going to be a lot of coming and going through 3 or 4 of the squad slots, either through changes in allegiance or deaths. Unfortunately, I think it's naieve to think that there aren't going to be some uncontrollable deaths in the game, and I'd wager BioWare isn't saying much to prevent freakouts from the general public/BSN.

They aren't really releasing any information on the behalf on how many spoilers they leaked on Me2.
It was one spoiler after another. Many people complained about it so now they aren't going to be releasing any new information I guess until probably into next year. It's way to soon to be leaking things about characters anyways when we still have 5-6 months until the game comes out.

I'm not particuarly worried about the state of the characters in Mass Effect 3, as that's one of the few things I trust Bioware explicitly to handle right. I'm just annoyed that we're not hearing anything about them. All we've heard so far is that VS, Tali, Garrus and Liara are returning as permanant squadmates (But at the same time nobody is permanant?) And that we'll be getting a generic male human soldier to join us (I can barely contain my excitement <_<)

What about the alien races? Cool new Squadmates? The new LI's they've mentioned?

After months of barely any information outside of Omni-Blades we finally get the news that there is now a mediocre Multiplayer element in the game that reviews are saying is all right but not great. I know that they don't want spoilers but without any information on the more emotional side of the game, like the connection to the characters and the story, I'm struggling to feel any hype at all. There is just no good information to counter all of the meh

Maybe it's just me, but I don't really see information on the characters we'll be seeing as spoilers, particuarly characters who were in the previous games and we know will be appearing at some point or another anyway.

I truly fear for Bioware's physical safety from some of the more... Enthusiastic fans if the full blockade on Tali info turns out to be a doozy rather than pause for effect.

On the bolded part, that's basically how I view the squadmate situation in ME3.  That's why I believe some of the infomation is going to be very spoilerish because of where and how we get a certain squadmates to join our cause.

Not full time as in start to finish. But it seems they're leaning towards a rotation concept. Also squad status may not be necessary for romance continuation.

Yeah, this is getting a little ridiculous. We're getting threads closed for going off-topic as if there is anything else worth discussing at this point. I was actually trying to discuss Vega's possible eye color in the Vega thread: that's how desperate this forum is getting at trying to keep character threads from going through a mass relay and into dark space...

You're talking about the spoilers fans learnt all by themselves by knowingly cliking "Play/Read/Watch" on everything that was being released knowing perfectly the promo material may contain spoilers and sitting on the largest ME fan forum which by default would be filled by spoilers?

Or do you talk about the spoilers fans learnt because BioWare was putting gun to their heads forcing them against their own will to watch the trailers and sit on BSN?

Well, with MP reviews being somewhat underwhelming, it wouldn't surprise me if PR feels they need to increase the hype in other areas. So we might see a SP info dump before too long.
